well the inevitable CMC broke.. at the worst timing

While driving on the freeway... at 8pm.. in the dark.. my CMC decided to take a dump... and I was stuck in the middle of a 5 lane freeway... Clutch pedal completely sunk to the floor..

I've ran the Exedy Stage 1 clutch + ACT lightweight flywheel for about 13k miles.. I guess i had a good run.

Can u guys point to me the FASTEST way of getting the SSP CMC? Any reputable dealers here that can overnight this or something local? (I live in Los Angeles) I heard good words on the SSP.. just not sure where to get it fastest.. I need my car back and running in 3-4 days if possible.

thanks for help

I'd get it from MAP. They will get it out to you quickly.

You can also check out the Magnus version. However, you will still need the master cylinder from Mitsubishi.

amen!!! great safety advertising too... It was really scary having that thing blown.. neutral in the middle of the freeway and stuck there.. with everybody passing at 50mph

I understand companies cost cutting, but having a plastic CMC is pretty shoddy if you ask me. Previous Evos had the metal CMC, so I wonder what Mitsubishi was thinking? This is a critical part and as the OP stated, being stuck in the middle of a freeway is downright dangerous. If Mitsubishi claims that the 5 speed can take abuse, then it is safe to assume that they know these cars will be driven aggressively.

+1 - it's a solid product.

Got mine from MAPerformance.com and it came with the entire assembly needed for the swap.

I looked up Magnus... its about ~200$ and it require me to get OEM CMC... is it better than SSP? I've searched around and heard all good things about SSP... even though it's a little more expensive. I really can't wait and have my car sitting in the shop, so I ordered my SSP earlier today and over night shipped it...
