About to hit 600 miles, loving the car more and more. I feel SO much more connected to the evo than i did in the sti! Car is getting detailed on thursday, im thinking about getting a clear bra done since the front of my sti was a mess after only 21k miles.

I already ordered a TR1 shiftboot, and ams shifter base bushings to clean up the shifts.

I am (was) a hardcore Subaru guy, having had a couple modded WRXs, and thought the 2011 STI was going to be the one for me, until I actually test drove both the Evo 10 and STI back to back. There is simply no comparison in how the Evo feels. NUTSACers and subie fan bois will preach that on paper they're close and it's preference, and it is largely preference, but Evo is simply engineered to be much more focused and dynamic.

It's like I told my neighbor once while outside doing yard work, saying that the difference between the two, is the STI is like me edging the sidewalk with the weed trimmer, while it gets the job done, it does so ham fistedly, where as the Evo is a dedicated laser guided edger.

One of the first people who I heard that likes Bertera. I bought a Subaru (from when that location used to be a suby dealership) and had a horrible experience. I test drove a Kazashi there and the guys were d-bags.

Welcome to the ranks.

As a former STi owner I can tell you, you got it right and as much as I liked Subaru, there is no denial that their latest models have gone awash.

In the end, if performance is for you then the Evo X is your machine.

funny you say that, i went to the hartford subaru store to see what they would buy my sti for and i did not feel comfortable at all (pushy annoying & rude), i told the guys at the mitsubishi dealer my experience, and it was not the first time they heard about poor customer service.

Congrats on the upgrade, get a clutch master cyl. and exedy twin disk and just keep them in the garage, and that's the only thing you'll ever have to fix unlike the ringland issues over on the other side.

Whenever I see the topic of "Should I buy an EVO or STI" come up on NASIOC, it seems a lot of them actually push people towards the EVO (especially if they're looking for power). The benefits of an STI that they seem to point out are interior quality(?) and utility, but that's it. You're right in saying there are still many die-hard Subie fanbois out there. But every car forum has them.
