Interior Carbon Fiber Trim Pieces

I'm having an issue and I'm hoping for some input here.

My car has a complete interior carbon fiber trim overlay package in it. Near as I can tell its Rexspeed stuff (not sure if anyone else makes it)

But, two pieces have fallen off since I got it, most recently the drivers door piece. It looks like its been repeatedly glued on. I'm personally not impressed with the fitment so I want to just clean off the glue and leave it off. Has anyone had much luck getting the adhesive off of these things? I'm worried about damaging it.

If I don't luck out, does anyone know where to source replacements, or is dealer the only option?

PS - How do I get the trim piece off the door? I got all the clips loose but there's a big round post clip of some sort that I can't get loose.

I'd say try warm up the glue and apply Goo gone.. that stuff works pretty well.. that's what i do for most badge removal / clean up the glue after

For replacement... find a local junk yard and see if there's any Evo.. all you need is to find 1 car and probably find most oem replacements. This forum also sells lot of OEM parts in the marketplace..

Yeah I had that concern too, but it looks like they may have done that once already, so I might not worry about it and have it all 3m CF wrapped after I get the adhesive off.

This stuff is caked on bad, I'd like to slap whoever installed it.

I don't think anyone makes trim pieces for the doors. Rexpeed only makes them for the dash. I would guess that it might have been a "custom" job by someone who didn't really know what they were doing.

I think you could either take all the trim off, clean them up, and paint them a certain color like gloss black or whatever you want.. or clean them up and just use 3M CF to cover up the trim.. New pieces from the dealer is INSANE.

Yeah now that you mention it, I wonder where these came from...

The car had a decal on it that said "DS5 Carbon Fiber Solutions" when I bought it, but I couldn't google up any information on it.

You can buy the "decals" on ebay...they are a waste. As far as getting the stuff off, be careful what you use... personally I use a heat gun and a credit card... never has failed me and I debadge/de-decal a lot of cars

I would just let my vinyl guy that wraps all of my shop vehicles do it, I wouldn't tackle it myself.

But yeah, look at this mess of glue.

And here is the trim piece. Looks decently formed and such, no brand marks on it anywhere though.

I know right...not looking forward to tackling this...considering there's an entire car load of dash trim pieces that I will have to do this with.

screw messing around with it imo... Just get it wrapped in CF. I will be getting my interior wrapped in FEB. I have my gas tank cover wrapped and will use the same materially and get the interior wrapped. If you are interested in wrapping, call cobb tuning @ plano. They will lead you in the right direction.

What happened! Ha, wow. Glue is a little easier since when you eat it up, it's a little easier to get up. In my opinion, take the glue off as much as possible and get it wrapped up.
