I wouldn't trade until it's paid off.

if you want comfort, automatic, some performance and lower maintanence costs, i'd say go with a NEW BMW 335 (either buy or lease). you don't pay a dime to maintain the car for 4 years aside from tire rotation and replacing tires.

I strongly considered both. I like the 335 a lot but in the end I chose performance over luxury. I wish I could get both because the 335 would make a nice dd. In stock form the torque curve is awesome in the 335, but in terms of cost to modify and overall performance the evo won.

Have you driven them both? I would say if you are going for an automatic, the MR transmission is awesome compared to the boring auto in the 335.

You will sacrifice trunk space and some luxury so it all depends what is more important to you.

If it were me, I'd miss the manual trans and regret the decision. I'd finish paying off the evo and buy a nice everyday type car.

I love the style and luxury of the 335i but the stock twin scroll turbo and inline 6 make it a bit of a beast. Out of my price range though.

I sold my 08 evo and bought an M3, and ended up back in an '11 evo x a few months later. The 335i is an alright car. Nowhere near the handling characteristics of an evo x, but it is a little more luxurious and it's a much better car for long drives on the highway. Don't own one out of warranty or the repair bills will make you wish you kept your evo. The free maintaince is cool but it doesn't cover tires or alignments. BMW dealers are more mod friendly also. I'd go with a newer MR before I got a 335i. My dad owns a 335i and i've been driving it the last few days and yes its nice, however I'm ready to get back into my evo now...i'm bored of the bmw.

I'm not so sure about that, with 1K you can make a stock 335i 400 whp. Less than $500 for a tune and $500 for an integrated windshield wiper meth kit. Throw a $300 downpipe and $50 intake on and you're around 430 whp on 93 pump gas.

I own a 335i coupe 6MT and enjoy it as a daily. Have driven a bunch of Evo X and about to buy the wife an Evo X GSR. They are both good cars but not really all that similar. 335 is WORLDS more comfortable/quiet/refined with good power. Evo X has better handling, more raw feeling but not as good for daily driving.

I came out of a 335i sedan (sport/ premium/ 6mt). It is a far NICER car. I had suspension, RPF1s, and a JB3. It was decently fast. But at the end of the day, I had to find a BETTER car. So far, the luxury trade off was worth it for me.

I test drove a 335xdrive before opting for the evo. The bimmer was a lot more polished inside and out but wasn't as fun to drive or as chuckable. Also you get a big mod budget with the price difference. Lastly there are way too many bimmers where I live to feel like you're not a clone.

If u must go bimmer, I'd look at 135 or m1. They're more chuckable and unique but no awd or four doors.

Both nice cars, it comes down to luxury vs raw performance really. The maintenance costs will be high on the 335i out of warranty, and the car will cost more.

Well if you get the MR you can put all your current mods on that.

A bit expensive.

Ya, I think Migs just went from an MR to a GSR this past year.

I'm happy with my GSR, but I wouldn't mind having flappy paddles one bit.
