I think a better comparison of the two would be Road and Track's article: http://www.roadandtrack.com/tests/co...lancer-evo-gsr
The Evo was faster on the road course, faster 0-60 and faster in the quarter mile. Done deal.

As far as I can tell, that "article" merely lists the factual specifications of the 2 vehicles and throws one sentence with vague statements such as "faster" and "better looking".
In other words, it isn't saying much of anything.

It sounds like a sales pitch from a dealer. More power does not mean faster, a shorter wheel base (I think they meant base) does not mean better handling and a 7 speed paddle shift won't make it feel like a formula 1 car.
It's just a sales pitch to people who don't know much about cars. I can see a 370 owner trying to convince an X owner his trans is superior because it's what formula 1 cars use.
Personally I actually like the 370Z. It just wasn't practical enough for me. Decided that on my own, without reviews like this.

I love the Z, I think it's a fabulous car. But IRL I have friends, and 3-4 people living in my house usually, so being able to seat someone in the back of the car made the choice for me.

I used to have a Z convertible. For an all season and all around performance car the Evo wins hands down. I don't regret the decision going from the Z to the ralliart and the ralliart to the Evo.

The link you posted is just speculation based on specs... and is not true at all. Plus... that "comparison" was made by a 350Z website!!!

lol thanks ill show my friend this review instead
that should shut him up for a bit.
^ I used to belong to 350Z because it was a sister site to G35 driver.com, and I had a modded G35 at the time. Like any site, people have biases and strong feeliings towards the cars they own and negative feelings against the competition. While posting raw statistics, it would seem that the Z is a much better car than the Evo. However, numbers rarely prove anything. And, the comments on the site were purely subjective. Taking a car to a road course, running the drag strip and evaluating the cars on the road is probably the best way to determine which is better.
BTW, I almost bought a 370Z before getting my Evo. I love their styling and am partial to the V6 that Nissan/Infiniti uses. It is a lighter platform than the Evo, which is never a bad thing. However, the Evo is more than just a sheet of statistics, it is the sum total of a well thought out package that makes average drivers like myself look better than they should. Bottom line is that both cars are decent. It is just that the Evo has more of an attitude than the Z and is a better car in all weather conditions.
