ETS V2 Quiet buzz kill

Hi dudes:

I'm at my mechanic all pysched to install my V2 Quiet and here's how the muffler looked coming out of the box :-(

I have high confidence Michael is gonna make it right but have to say it's a bit of a buzz kill. I told them to go ahead and complete the install since it's mainly cosmetic and I'm assuming Michael will just send me a replacement muffler and cover me for the addl labor to swap it out.

Speak directly to ETS about this. You can likely expect a new muffler part to replace the damaged part, but you have to speak to them. Sometimes stuff happens in shipping. You should have never had it installed, though.

BTW - you shouldn't expect ETS to pay for the labor. You didn't have to install the damaged muffler. That's on you.

Also, do you have some proof the damaged muffler arrived like that from ETS?

Used to work for a major shipping company, and let me tell you the Italian word "Fragile" Fra-jee -ley means; Throw me.

If your package doesn't have that magic Italian word then it is the target in which the ones with that word are thrown at.

I vote it was probably damaged in shipping, and from how active Michael is on the forums and the great rep ETS has, they will likely swap you for one with no damage. I would think you should be able to unbolt the muffler section on your own without the help of a shop.

ETS will make it right but don't expect them to pay for your labor you should have waited, plus thats an easy job you should know how to do it yourself.

Weird part is the crease is from the inside out so couldn't have been shipping.

You should never install a damaged part unless you willing to live with it.

The problem is not from shipping or our quality control the problem is the design of the muffler from vibrant performance. Currently this is the only muffler that fits the X perfect and offers good quality and a great sound. Attached is a couple pictures of us opening a muffler right out of the box and ones we have in stock.

I apologize, but this is the best that we will be able to offer at this time. If you have any other questions please let me know. We have never had a problem with the durability of muffler. Like all of our products, we do offer a lifetime warranty against any type of manufacturer defects.

Thanks!

Michael

Thanks,

Michael

Thx for the detailed explanation and pics Michael. Also appreciate reiterating the lifetime warranty.

I've had it installed for a few days now and as long as it's not on a lift, it looks great. It also sounds great. The mechanic said he didn't think it was a structural problem so that plus your word is good enough for me.

I'll post a video soon so folks can hear her purr.
