Lets be more of a community, We own Evo's for god sake!

I usually post technical stuff and technical questions, but i have to get this off my chest. I love my car as everyone on here seems to, and it becomes a crazy part of our lives. From modding, to enjoying the car. One thing that seems to be a problem is the attitude of some of the drivers. On the forums, on the road, the Evo community seems to be not too friendly. From everything seeming to be a competition for some, and others laugh at you if your car isn't making power. I wish we were more of a community and not in competition with each other. a few people on the road will flash their lights (mostly 8 and 9 drivers) however with the X's people just seem to be d***s. Egos get in the way of appreciating other peoples cars and i think thats why i enjoy this forum so much. Most people are cool on here, but X drivers out here don't seem to be as involved.

Sorry for the rant, but it has to be said, we own great cars and take the time to mod and enjoy these cars, so we should appreciate each others cars. I love to learn from others cars, it's not a competition.... Happy modding guys.

Try hanging around the Euro crowd.. Lol.

But what you speak of will happen on huge forums like this because you have people from all over the world interacting. This is what the internet has become. Try finding a video on youtube without some idiot posting some stupid comment. It's almost impossible. I've noticed local forums and sites don't usually have this issue though.

The forum is great for the most part, it's when i'm on the road out here and go to meets and the attitudes of other X drivers. I'm from London originally and the meets in England are very different. I don't get it.

I haven't really felt rivalry amongst the EVO X group... maybe the 8/9 guys against the X crowd... but that's about it.

Hopefully the original poster gets some better vibes in the future.

if you line 2 evo at the light, most likely they will want to race each other.

there are a lot of helpful and nice people on here and the technical information up on here is mind blowing, but i some what agree sometimes threads just spontaneously go up in flames over nothing. the subaru forums i used to go on were a lot different in terms of ego, trolling and competitiveness. Where is the love people ? stop trying to race me when you see me on the road!!

I'm with you 110% on that. I don't usually get comments about not being modded. I usually just get completely ignored. I've gotten to the point where I am hesitant to even think about waving at other Evo owners because most either don't look my way or give me a WTF face when I honk or flash them. Random people give me thumbs up or give nice comments but the people I expect to get a response from(Evo owners) act like I'm not even around.

It's interesting you say that. I wave to all Evos; there aren't that many where I live. The only folks who don't respond with a good deal of consistency are X drivers.

Most people are cool on here, but X drivers out here don't seem to be as involved.
That's kinda understandable on an aggregate level. Mitsubishi repositioned the X in the marketplace, so it attracted (more) folks who shopped features in lieu of a platform.

i always wave to or flash my liqhts to other evo drivers, usually i get nothing back. I meet other evo drivers at car meets (which i no longer go to because of this drama) and i stood there and was made to feel stupid because my evo isn't a 550hp evo. It's silly, let alone all the drama between the drivers at the meets. I don't know what is going on...

I rarely wave to other Evo drivers.. usually, it's cause I'm too busy trying to check out their car and/or shocked that I've actually seen another one around here.

I always give wrx/sti owners a nice friendly wave, using both middle fingers.. haha, j/k

I think its the opposite. I rarely see any evos' when im in mine but not too long ago in a one week span i saw 3 different 8/9's and i made a point to stick my arm out the window and wave each time, and each time they all just stared at me with blank faces. It seemed to me that i was not good enough cuz im in a X. However, other X owners and 08+ lancer owners almost always wave.
