Fake "kids makeup" on my leather seats!
Fake "kids makeup" on my leather seats!
So my neice had gotten this fake makeup stuff and while my wife was playing with her and the makeup she must have somehow gotten some on her *** on her jeans. Long story short when she sat in my car it got onto the leather seat in my evo. Once I discovered the stuff it was dry and damn near impossible to remove. I tried soapy water and tons of elbow grease....nothing. I then tried Isopropyl Alcohol and again tons of elbow grease. This seemed to fair a little better but still cant completely get rid of it. My next thought is to use a fine grit sandpaper of sorts and basically sand it off of the leather and then perhaps just apply a conditioner of sorts. Does anyone else have any ideas for me as to how I can go about getting this stuff off?
The makeup kit has since been thrown far far away!
Help me if you can....HOLLA!!!

Do not use sandpaper on leather. Ridiculous!
I would try something that has adhesive and grease removing properties. Citrus based degreaser or if you have it, goo gone would be better.
If that doesn't work, use a mr clean magic eraser with a bit of degreaser GENTLY.

well I was scrubbing it with a scotchbrite pad and really really getting into it hard and fast and there is no evidence at all which is why I thought of the sandpaper thing. Perhaps goo gone is an option. I just hope that it doesnt have ill-effect on the leather.
If you like your leather, wait to get some goo gone (and NOT the 'professional' labeled stuff) instead of abrading the crap out of it with a scotch brite pad.
Wasn't trying to be a dick about the sandpaper, just funny, never heard of someone thinking to use that.

i would try this in an inconspicious spot...but you can mix some acetone with distilled water to make a 50/50 mix. should take out pretty much anything but i dont know what it will do to the leather...aka doing this on the underside of the seat first to make sure you dont ruin anything
do you guys have leons? in the states? anyway its a furniture store- they have a leather care kit. they sell it for 19.99$ and does an amazing job. then theres a separate bottle to restore the leather once you've cleaned it.
This might sound crazy but try something grease based like lotion. Lotion has taken stains off my hands that not even gojo could. Leather is like skin right??? ha. And the lotion shouldn't have any bad effect on the leather. Of course try in an inconspicuous spot first just for peace of mind. Good luck
