On the dyno however you are able to hold the Ic as they do pulls and it never heats up. Even after long track sprints it's warm but never hot to the touch

I ran it on my stock turbo and my fp red setup (which had full spool by 4k) so I don't think spool was affected really. Even stock turbo always spooled same as everyone else's or quicker.
2 of my friends just installed the ultimate racing one too and yes, fitment is not good haha They almost had to cut some pieces of the crash beam BUT those 2 guys put down really really good power down the dyno last weekend.

Ain't that the truth.

I remember hearing about a Garret Core ETS-built 3.8 intercooler. The claims being made in that thread were that the 3.8 with a Garret core was better than the 4.0".

Anyone else hear anything about the 3.8? I'm still trying to decide what I want.

This is all pretty interesting. I debated getting the 3.5in myself. But i figured if i wasnt going to be making that much power why go bigger? Save myself the money.....but i guess it couldnt hurt going the 3.5

fyi:

20x12x3.0 Bar & Plate Core - 700hp Direct Replacement
20x12x3.5 Bar & Plate Core - 750hp Direct Replacement
20x12x4.0 Bar & Plate Core - 820hp Direct Replacement

I run the 4.0 and honestly I don't see a difference in my spool rates vs the stock intercooler.

Has anyone seen an increase in running engine temps? I am in Texas and we get 100 deg summers so heat soak is a factor but going thicker core will also restrict flow to the radiator. Does anyone know if 3' needs modification to the radiator? I know AMS has on their site that their time attack car's temps were running higher with their 3.5' IC so they recommended a racing radiator. Dont know which to get 3' or 3.5'. Would a 3' be enough for an MHI 18k future upgrade?

^^ Texas too, San Antonio, I just brought an AMS IC to replace the stocker, noticed the car was starting to use it's built in turbo timer or w/e they name it. That wasn't the reason to buy the IC of course, but I'm sure it'll help. Can't speak on performance just yet, bunch of parts to be put on for the tune!
