Are you looking for a website to get a replacement? Or what?

Well I'm kinda trying to find out why it didn't reach. It was off by a bit, so now the starter doesn't reach trans. Any idea why it wouldn't reach or if its just the one that i had on just went bad?

This is really confusing, so it's difficult to help.

Unless you're a rather strange person, the previous starter did go bad; why else would you be replacing it?

Is the new one an OE replacement?

Have you looked at the FSM? http://www.evoxservicemanual.co.uk/

Well the starter i currently have sits a bit far from the trans so its not reaching the ridges, so i bought a new thinking maybe this will fit perfectly. I dont get why its not reaching the current one tho. Kinda hard to explain lol

is the tranny an x tranny? is the starter flush with the housing? I believe you are not explaining all the info and this is why you are not getting the answers you are looking for.

Agreed, you're too vague.

1. Why is the starter not reaching? Are you replacing it or did someone just change the clutch and not put it back together properly?

2. Is it the stock starter? (If no, why not)
3. If it is, why doesn't it fit now? Did it ever fit?
4. What other history does this car have around those parts.... Aftermarket trans? Engine Rebuild?

Then we can help better. Not many of us change starters very often so it's a bit confusing.

OK i drive a Lancer ES with an Evo X engine in it. Prior to blowing my 4b11t out it was driving GREAT no issues, no problems, no anything.. One day i got a bit too excited and lets just say... turbo.. ..

I purchased a new engine, got it all install and what not...everything fit great.. then when he goes to put in the starter, the starter isn't reaching the Tran.

Only thing i noticed different from this engine and the blown one is that the new one has "4b11t #1" on it.

I purchased a new starter hoping that will be the fix if that then i may need to drill a little into the starter entrance and move it over just a bit.

You neglected to answer the most important question: what transmission is in the car?

Your post confused me even more.... I'll make an attempt.

You turbo'd your stock engine and blew it up.
Then you got a new engine, but it's an Evo engine (4B11T vs 4B11 in the regular lancer)
Now I'm assuming you kept the regular lancer transmission and the starter won't reach?

The regular lancer has a flywheel with different dimensions than the Evo's and the starter doesn't reach it. That's probably the issue but again you are just now telling us it's not an Evo which took awhile..... . Now tell us the whole story.

The car never ran a stock lancer ES engine. I got the whole engine/ trans swapped out for a Evo X. The engine before was 4b11t.. this one is 4b11t. Everything about the cars engine/trans is a Evo X.

But for some reason this time around the starter isnt reaching.. if no one gets it this time around. Ill try to write a giant paragraph to explain lol

On a serious note, not busting your ***** or anything man but I think a giant paragraph would be more than helpful as I am still stumped.
