Good deal!.. What was the deciding main factor? Personally for me it was about the handling..

I got the GSR...

For starters...like I've mentioned before, I've had an '03, and an '05 Evo...needless to say when I drove this one, it just felt like the natural progression where the Evo would go to...I was really surprised how more forgiving the GSR suspension in comparison to my spine banging '03s...It definitely feels heavier, I wish I could open her up more to see what she's made of, but def want to baby her for the first 1000miles or so...

I'm def missing the the 6th gear and the trunk space!

Based on your factors, I would recommend the 5-door WRX. Reason being, it'll be more comfortable, cheaper, you can mod it to be plenty quick for a daily (granted not as fast as an Evo X) and you'll have lots of interior space. The one thing that irks me about the Evo is the tiny trunk. If you have 3 kids, I presume you need to be able to carry kids, friends and stuff places.

This is what you REALLY want:

Folding seats, 5-door wagon, twin-scroll X turbo, 4b11T, and so so much more

An Evo X hatch would be nice, but I don't think they make one.

Ended up getting the Evo Amby...I felt that the interior was as good as the WRX - yes the trunk space sucks, but to be honest with you I never really haul too much in my ride (that's what my wife's minivan is for!); as long as the kids fit and wifey allows me to have my toys - Evo 4 life! Getting a bit older (mid-30s) I might just leave the car mostly stock for now...if I can get the basics: alarm, dvd player 4 the kids...I'll b a happy camper

If the Subie dealer did have the WRX 5-dr in stock when I went there though I might be singing a different tune...

Evo is a different class performance wise then wrx/sti , subarus are fugly and you have to throw tons of cash at them to get them to be entertaining to drive.

No way...WRX is cheapy and slow. My brother has one and I hate it. If you're somewhat of a big dude you'll feel very small in in it and tight. On top of that the "racing seats" it comes with are absolutely garbage. X > WRX. STI makes sense though.

Good choice on the Evo.

If you needed to haul something regularly, I think the RA would have been a good compromise.

When I was in the market for either an STi or EVO, the Subaru dealer didnt want to deal and was a bit snobby, like they were doing me a favor....well that lasted about 5 minutes....I went on down to the Mazda/Mitsu dealer driving my RX8, and they couldnt do enough for me. (and no I didnt buy my RX8 there) I drove the MR (to me it seemed way to droningly loud with the transmission) and I drove a GSR...the GSR fit me much better, no momentary lag/lapse when you punch the throttle and manual transmission is what I 99% always get. The dealer actually gave me more than i paid for my RX8 new...+ 1400 off list +0% for 36mos.....they had no RX8s in stock so they were prolly eager to take mine in trade (it had only 2,000 miles on it and was in new condition) To me the GSR is a no brainer. Hope you enjoy it. Evo is the mans choice....I wont even mention who drives Subarus but they arent manly types usually...nuff said.

Yeah, Mitsubishis are so manly, the Eclipse definitely wasn't designed for 20-something year old women. No, it was built for big burly men.

That is making me think about how the ratio of men to women decreased when the 3rd gen Eclipse arrived.
