Start your car up and let it run for a few minutes even when its spring/summer weather? I dont see the real reason to do it when its warm out, but i always do it when it winter here in cleveland.

I start it and start driving right away, but I drive it like a granny til it's warmed up. I try not to go over 3.5k.
Warming up at a stand still takes longer, so your engine is outside operating temp for longer. You're also not warming up the drivetrain or any other moving parts if you're just standing still.
If there's snow on it, I still have it run while I'm clearing it off though. It's cold outside damnit, and a man has his limits.

I go by what the owners manual states and wait until the temp starts to move before starting to go. Both the evo 8 and evo x manual state that although if you drive easy until it warms up you should be fine.

This is exactly what i do.
I wait until the Temp gauge shows a rise.. and than i move.. and drive like granny until mid point.
I would let it warm up if I could but my neighbors don't really appreciate it when I do. So I just drive very easy till it warms up. I also heard that driving it to warm it up will warm up the tranny at the same pace and that is actually better for the car....
I let mine warm up for a couple of minutes before driving. But Im in TX and even our winter mornings are warm by comparison. After when I start driving I shift at 3.2k from 1st to 2nd and 3.5k from 2nd to 3rd. Until fully warm, I stay out of boost until fully warm.
I always wait until the temp gauge reads the first mark. A lot of my coworkers always ask me why I let my car run for a few minutes before I leave. Most of them think I'm crazy, except my CEO. He drives a 998 turbo, so he knows what's up lol.
I wait until about 40% temp before I start boosting. But usually don't WOT on a daily basis, only commute 10 miles a day.

The car will restrict boost when cold but you should NEVER allow the car yo do that. Stay out of boost until it warms up. I use my oil pressure gauge to determine when the motor is fully lubricated and the oil a little thinner than when first started.
