Not sure, the dealership I work for is a best price dealer. We don't negotiate on the price. Anyone else work for a dealer that does and know the answer to this?

I have a 680rwhp 706rwtq ford lightning and a cobra with about 500 to the wheels, so i don't plan on modding this thing much past stock. Maintaining dd characteristics and sound qualities is what i'm going for with an evo. Getting out of the truck... Anything seems slow, lol

i'm really looking for something that i can bob and weave through some spirited turns and get me back and forth to school and work.
then the mr is definitely for you

I called the dealer today and said that I'd be going up there Tuesday with the title to my subaru so see if we could come to an agreement.

This is the car I'm looking at.

Doesnt seem like much of a deal since there's no navi or aero kit on the car. See if you can work in one of those in the deal if you decide to get it.

Once I told the dealer I was looking at trading my STi and paying cash, they didn't hesitate to allow me to test drive it . After moving about 5 or 6 cars they handed me the keys and said, "Lets go!" Didn't ask for my drivers license or anything.

First impression was that it drove very smooth and almost a little softer than my STi, less road noise, better sound insulation, and it felt like a luxury sports car should. Seemed to have the same power stock for stock that the STi had.

Only negative I had, was that the bolsters on the seats were tight around the thighs.

They'd give me $34k on my trade which has 20k miles on it, so I'd need to pony up 9 more for it.

Any thoughts on those who have traded their STi for one or how the pricing looks?

Thanks,

--Matt
I just traded my 08' STI for a '12 white GSR with SSSL for $39k. I will pick it up on Monday. I had the same impression that you did about it being smoother, however, it felt a little slower than my STI (which had been returned to stock).

What is the aero kit comprised of? Don't see it on mitsu's website.

I did some searching... coming from an STi with the wing (not to mention the rear end looks like a Kia or Toyota lol) I feel that without the wing and skirts, the car looks more streamlined.

The lip spoiler looks pretty sharp, much like the lip spoiler on the 03/04 cobra.

You're kidding right? The navi is like a $2,500 option. I don't exactly know what the invoice price on an MR is, but what I do know is that we have one similarly equipped to this one that's 38,999, and there's no way in hell we could sell if for $2500 less, or throw in a $2500 option!!!

My experience with factory NAV is that they're garbage compared to aftermarket units.

How are the factory NAV units on the EVOs?

$2500 installed.

They're actually pretty good on the mitsus. You can just use the regular GPS, or you can subscribe to an additional service that does all kinds of cool ****.

... Or you could save yourself $2500 and use your smart phone. Honestly, we don't sell that many nav units at our store because of that exact reason. There's nothing the nav can do that Google can't. I've got my steering wheel adjusted so that I can wedge my cell phone in between the steering column and the top of the center dash display. Works just fine for me.

When judging if the OP's pricing is good or not we need to factor in his trade. Im not sure if it works this way in his state but in mine you do not pay taxes on the full price of the car if you have a trade in.

In the OP's situation he has a trade in of $34k. So if the price of the car is $43k OTD, it would be safe to assume the price of the car would be about $40k if he does not have a trade it. For TX rates if the car is $40k, the OTD price is about $42.7k not including dealer fees. At $40k the tt&l on the car is $2700.

But if the OP is trading in his sti for $34k, he should only be paying tt&l on $6k. This amount will be around $600. So if he is trading in his sti and the car will be $43k OTD, it seems like the price of the car is more around $42.4k (not including dealer fees).

If I was the OP I would make sure I know the actual price of the car fist. Not the OTD price. Its easy to figure out the OTD price if they give you the price of the car and the amount on your trade in.

USAA has a new car buying program where they basically get you the car for cost so to speak. It says my target price is $39,939. Tax is 7% and with a $34k trade in, tax will be $415.73. Tag and title should be another $30 I think...

So I should be able to walk out by paying, $40,394.73.

The car has been there for over 3 months, so if I walk in with $6,340 cash and my title, I think I'll walk out without too much of a fight.
