Stock oil filter life

Hey guys I got a 2012 GSR recently and just going through the WARRANTY & MAINTENANCE Manual it shows in the maintenance schedules that the ENGINE OIL CHANGE is change every 9K MILES. I was shock at this. What do you guys think about this? Also would you stay with the OEM Oil Filter or change to a Mobil 1 oil filter?

just change it every oil change. and yes, stick with the oem filter. you should be doing an oil change every 3-3.5k miles

You can also set the number of miles for the maintenance light to come on. It's in the owners manual on how.
