Any regrets
Wrong part choice. Nothing wrong with the car. Had to be the first on getting everything so I ended up beta testing most stuff.
First to get GT30R turbo, had a few issues with the wastegate flapper that took a year to get warrantied by Garrett.
Got a Spec twin disk clutch when they just launched that had some design issue.

I regret not buying one sooner....but glad I waited since the SE was the perfect trim for my needs. I regret spending all the money I did on mods and maintenance on my previous car, wish I could have afforded to buy a IX and own 2 Evo's today.
Love my X but wish I would have gotten a used IX for all the reasons mentioned earlier
6th gear
its more "raw"
Better Bottom End
Cheaper
But then I love my X cause at least it got the AYC and beefy rear diff, but i do like the way the X looks better than the IX.....wait now I'm back to loving my X Maybe I should just get both lol

I daily drove an Evo VIII for 6 years. It took a while, but I finally needed a more "grown-up" car.
I seriously wanted to test drive a Subaru Legacy GT Wagon with a 6-speed. I'd gotten a drive in an auto version a few years prior, and it made quite an impression. Unfortunately, by the time I was car shopping for my next vehicle Subaru no longer made the Legacy GT Wagon. And the redesigned Legacy GT Sedan was hideous.
My other dream car was a Miata coupe (Mazdaspeed version , of course). Unfortunately, Mazda did not actually make a true coupe version of the Miata. But now Subaru has obliged with the BRZ. I intend to test drive a Subaru BRZ as soon as I can get my hands on one. If I like it as much as I think I will, and if the dealers aren't playing markup games, I'll then have to think long and hard about whether to trade the X in now or try to have both an X and a BRZ - but having both would mean waiting a year or two to save up some cash for the BRZ. Life is short; not sure I want to wait!

Berzerker,
For $22,000 the BRZ would make sense as a young person's economical car with sporty styling, but not for the official pricing of $25,500 to $28,600 + $775 dest
Or going the performance route, If they gave it 250 Ft/Lbs of torque for the price they are asking, it would be worth it.
$29,300 for a commuter car that weighs 300 lbs more than a 2012 miata, that only has 151 ft/lbs of torque is total crap IMHO. And after you have owned an Evo, the 0 to 60 of 7.3 seconds (or even MT's 6.4 sec if you believe them instead) will seem like an eternity.

I also regret the higher car payment (not to bad though)
And I wish I could have afford a fully loaded MR instead of my stipped down GSR.
I also regret giving Mitsu more money on yet another car I bought of theirs. They handled my warranty issue on my Eclipse terribly and I sware I would never buy another Mitsu again but just couldnt pass up an Evo. This was probably my last Mitsu purchase though.
I think I over-estimated how much I could put up with the X GSR as a daily driver with traffic everyday. I'm starting to get annoyed by all the squeeks and sounds. But, this is my first Mitsu, so it was a little more shocking then not.
I love the car, and still love it's look, and to be fair I haven't mod'd a thing on it. I'm sure my opinion will change after some bolt-ons and tune.

After owning an VIII, I'll say that the 50 lbs or so I added in dynamat a few months after I bought it made ALL the difference, as the rear wheelwells in the rain sounded like a typhoon was in the back seat. I put some on the door panels and trunk bed to quiet the exhaust just a tad in the interior. I fixed all the misc other dash rattles with foam or whatever. That car literally put a smile on my face every morning I'd drive to work for 5 years. Some would call me a wuss for putting dynamat in an Evo, but you have to make it a little liveable.
It's a gas guzzler, and costs an arm and a leg in tickets and insurance, but I knew that going into it. No regrets whatsoever.
I'm assuming the X's are similar, if a tad more refined than the VIII.
