When do the rattles start in?

So I see alot of people complain and/or state how the interior of the X rattles and makes alot of noises. I'm curious on when these rattles usually start in. Mine doesnt really make any rattle noises at all. BUT....it is only at 1100 miles at this moment.

As it is right now it is pretty quite inside (rattle wise). I drove my Eclipse Spyder the other day to work and that thing had all kinds of rattles and noises compared to the Evo. This is because the car is an 08 and ofcourse because of the convertible.

I would think all new cars for the most part are pretty tight. The parts fit together nicely and do not rattle to much. This ofcourse would change over time as the miles are put on it.

At around what mileage did you notice the car rattling more than you liked?

At about 4 months in, maybe 4k miles I noticed two that are annoying (most annoying one is at my left ear, somewhere in seat belt assembly). However, I drive with the windows down 95% of the time so I only notice them when trying to get the dew off the car before opening the windows or when I really focus on trying to hear them.

When it shrinks then everything would be tighter fitting and rattle less right? Are you saying it will rattle more if you live in a climate that has cold winters and hot summers?

So did everyone buy there car used or something? It rattled from when you first owned it? I understand it will be difficult to give an exact mileage but if you bought your car new did it always make rattling noises? Did you own it a few months before you noticed? Years? At all?

I see alot of people complain about the rattling sounds but so far my car hasn't really made much rattling noises. I'm curious if this will change in the future and if so....around when(in your personal experience)? Did they do something different to the 2012's because Mitsu noticed all the complaints about it? I mean they did change the ugly carbon fiber trim (IMO) to the piano black. Maybe they did something to help with the rattle as well.

My car has 22k miles and no rattles at all... 2008 MR

This kind of thing is very subjective. Some folks could prob find rattles in a 300k Maybach. Others might say a 1976 Pacer is rattle free. For reference I'm someplace in the middle there.

I also had a 2011 Raliart which I've sold and that thing developed rattles within the first 4k mi.

My conclusion is that Evo MR > Lancer in terms of rattles

My 2011 GSR has 1,100 miles on it. Bought it last August. At about 800 miles, a nice dash rattle/squeak set in. Haven't been able to pin it down yet, but it seems to be around the glovebox area. I have been too lazy to take it to the dealer to have them look at it.

2011 gsr when bought new quiet, now 5,000 and have a driver side roof or sunroof creak. I can't pin it down and I've posted no help I must be the only one with this roof creak. Gonna check out the little box in the dash, pillar, then gonna have to strip down the liner to check further driving me nuts!

I have 5k on my car. I had the seat belt rattle almost immediately, but it's gone away now. Now I have a rattle that exactly follows engine RPM somewhere in the dash. Makes the car sound yuck from the inside
