AEM Intake [My spin on it]
I was surprised myself but yes -- car felt a little more alive especially toward the top. I believe this has to do with the ECU readjusting though as in some article i read on here. I will tune soon, when rest of my parts get in.
Pretty easy to do, just leave the plastic wrapper on the plexiglass so that it doesn't get scuffed up!
Sure man, I'm in Carlsbad if you ever want to swing by. I still have some of the plexiglass left over too.
I agree, had to take it off to get the ETS piping on and it posed no problems.
Although it does leave a gap on the back of the box entry point for the pipe. So i've been pondering on a good way to create a gasket or something to wrap around the pipe to get it sealed up well so it only pulls in air from the front.

any update on your AEM? Do you like it? how are the gains?
I'm still in between the COBB and AEM because I live in SF and I prefer CARB because we have lots of jerk cops in SF. I like the AEM housing and I love your plexi glass cover.
I finally got the turbo installed and a custom exhaust made today so i'm taking it in for cams and a tune tomorrow. Once I get it all sorted out I will post up my results.
The initial butt-o-meter said there was a bit of a gain but nothing major.

Niceee!
I will post up more thoughts after my tune -- according to my tuner they have seen even better gains with the lid off the intake box -- so we will try it both ways and see if there are gains to be had with and without a lid.

So finally got the car back today.
Here's the Dyno...she put down around 388. But notice that it was with the AEM intake lid OFF.
With the lid on it put down 365.6 which is a significant drop.

Those gains strike me as odd. Granted, I was tuned lid on, but my car just got louder with it off and it goofed up my long term idle trims. I didn't see any kind if bump like that on virtual dyno. BBX Lite here with stock cams, though.
My dad made me a lexan lid, thanks for the inspiration!
