I'm back, got another Evo

Hello folks. I use to have a 2005 GG MR that I had sold in 2007 when I bought a new house. Selling the car freed up some money, but the loss was always felt.

Anyway, I just picked up a brand new 2011 Phantom Black MR with the Touring and Prem. package.

Again I've been away for some time, but never closed my account. I will test some of you older members. Last time I was on the forum the big debate at the time was Buschur having the (5) blade Evo 9 turbo, and stating that it was better then the (6) blade competitors turbos.

I picked up the new car with 42 miles on it. I'm still new to the Evo X and have been reading a lot of the threads on the forum to pick up some knowledge. I've compiled a list of bolt-ons that I will be buying and wanted to share them with you guys for feedback and suggestions. In my list I'm missing (2) items and I could use some opinions.

Thanks

Bolt on list:

COSWORTH Drop In Air Panel Filter
TITEK Titanium Cat-Back Exhaust System
AMS PERFORMANCE Widemouth Downpipe
AMS Test Pipe
Password JDM Upper Intercooler Pipe Black
BOV? (When I had the 05' MR I used the Turbosmart Red BOV)
Boost Controller? (When I had thr 05' MR I used the HKS EVC boost controller)

You might consider skipping the drop in filter and considering a CAI. Get everything else, along with the Grimmspeed and then a tune.

Just out of curiosity, I noticed you put BOV on your list. I was looking into one but from what I read the stock one is fine. Is it just for the sound or it there a time when a new BOV helps?

I bought mine from Ourisman Mitsubishi in Marlow Heights. I bought the last MR they had, but there are stil about 9 other Evo's on the lot including a Ralliart. I had a good experience. I went in and they offered me the already discounted internet price with 1 year of free service including oil changes, car washes etc... I countered offered $2000.00 less, they re-countered with $1500.00, I accepted. So I can actually say I had a good experience.

I've always been under the impression that when we raise the boost level on are cars it's a good idea to have a aftermarket BOV. If the stocker can handle the raised levels then great. Just wanted to make sure and see what others have been using in there setups.

I would just stick with the stock BOV for now, unless you just want to change it.. in that case, I agree with the OP, Synapse.

And I agree again with the Grimmspeed 3-port + tune.

You won't need an intake unless you want one since the drop-in and stock box will do just fine. The only thing I stayed away from was the AMS testpipe, since it is a straight piece, and I favored ones like ETSs that are curved like the stock one.. although there are a ton of people running the AMS one and only a few people have complained about the rattling from not having the bend in it..

the stocker starts to leak pass 27psi. I didn't change mine out till i swapped to a bigger turbo. Also got the benefit of a nicer sound too. You could also crush it to make it hold more.
