If a branch falls in the road does it make a scratch

I was driving into work this morning and a dead branch fell out of a tree over the road right in front of me. I jumped on the brakes and as you know the MR brakes are fantastic. Unfortunately there was a GM SUV on my tail and he wasn't going to stop anywhere nearly as fast. So my choice was to hit the branch or let the SUV rear end me. I picked the branch. Fortunately my car has 3M venture shield on it. So I need to replace one piece of the venture shield and buff a little swirl out of my hood. Other than that no damage. Guess the venture shield paid for itself already.

Good work on processing all those thoughts and reacting in a way that caused minimal damage in such a short time frame. That's a win in itself.

The thread title reminds me of the philosophic question: If a tree falls in a forest and nobody hears it, does it make a sound? Kind of a weird way to pose a question.

Best if the dipshizzle in the GM wasn't following so close and was maintaing a proper following distance...

Yeah I'm always mindful of how close I'm being followed because of this. I was on the WSH in NY and they have red light cameras. The lights started turning to red so I stopped and was nearly rear-ended by a guy. He just missed me and blew through the red light.

This would have been TRAGIC if you had the lowly OEM GSR brakes. Thank god you opted for the MR brake upgrade.

Eh? They're exactly the same brakes other than the 2-piece rotor?

EXACTLY! MY GSR's brakes are so bad it's like a train, I start braking about a mile before I get home to make sure I don't pass my house.

same exact thing happend to me the other week. I went to stop at a light that changed to yellow. I had plenty of room to stop but the retard behind me wasnt paying attention and all of a sudden i hear the tires lock up then all of a sudden swurves to my right, jumps over the curb onto the sidewalk then goes through the intersection and gets a ticket (i seen the flash).
