Some of us own and love Evos. I have an '11 MR that looks just like the one in the OP's post, but mine is bone stock. I really like it. For the same reasons his wife liked his Evo. Evos are fast. But they are also practical. They can be an asphalt-melting hot rod...and still schlep the kids to soccer practice. Try *that* with a Corvette!

Sorry, but the tiny trunk the X has is not as well suited for that IMO. The STI hatch is a much better fit for the description you posted.

The Mazdaspeed 3 is also a good choice. As is the Audi S4. Also the Pontiac G8 GT fits into that category well. I can actually keep going with this, but suffice it to say, the Evo is not the only fast, affordable sedan. Some of those other cars are probably nicer to drive so some people's g/f or wives that don't care about speed at all (like mine), would rather be in the comfortably quick car than the noisily, rough quick car.

Never stopped me from trips to the grocery or packing it full of suitcases for a weekend trip, and I have 3 kids. 2 are small. I don't think I could find a car that suits me better. Amazing track car and grocery getter.

I am not sure if dating someone who is into cars is a good idea or not. I have gone back and forth with this issue.

Yeah my husband and I are both into modding and track. That means buying 2 of everything pretty much. We each have 2 track cars and share a spec miata. Were on the search for a 2nd spec miata now. It gets expensive.

I don't think I can't let my fiancee drive my car because she's never driven a manual and I'm about to get a turbo kit and kick up the horsepower.....plus she road rages too much!!

Normally I avoid these threads because they annoy me and I never learn anything. But this one is different. For example, until a moment ago I had no idea that males who drove Miatae could have girlfriends, let alone be married.

got an 08 x MR modded slightly. Wife always asks me if she can drive it, sometimes I let her (if I'm too tired to drive or w/e).

She drives a 2008 TL and always tells me she wishes her car was like mine.

Although, she like never takes it past 5k rpm, she's always scared that she's going to break something and I'm going to be pissed at her.
