From what I have read upper makes no difference but the lowers do. But I am not sure, as with everything on cars, others will say something different. It looks better though, that I think we all agree on.

Totally wrong. That is true for the 8 & 9s but on the Evo X, the upper one is the one you need to replace. You want to get rid of that big rubber part of the intercooler pipes.

Ive got the AMS UICP and like it (I like all of their stuff), but Im really skeptical about any gains honestly. I consider it engine bay dressup.

I went with ETS flat black upper and lower IC piping. They offer a 10% discount on most parts for military

Im also running an AMS polished UICP. theres a thread that confirms the stock UICP expanding under pressure.

the rear upper OEM piece is where it necks down from 2.5" to 2". this is where the restriction is...

two piece vs one piece is a little controversial. one piece will definitely flow better (in theory). also, you have one less spot for potential boost leak... on the other hand, people worry that a one piece is too rigid and doesn't have enough play for the vibrating/rocking engine.

I wonder if I can get 10% discount because I'm a member of evom for years, also so just replacing oem with single pipe should be the same gain as 2 piece?

Wait I thought by changing oem with hard pipe you'll get faster spool? And better throttle response Correct me if I'm wrong

The hard pipe will enhance turbo spool and throttle response, yes. Mainly, the stock pipes could potentially collapse under higher boost pressure causing a huge restriction in airflow.

1.75" to be exact.

I have the same Cobb setup (and color). Liked it being aluminum and one piece. This kit comes with UICP / LICP / and turbo inlet as started. Probably only need the UICP which will save some $$. Think if you stick with a rep brand (Cobb, ETS, AMS, or Speed Circuit) - you really can go wrong.

In theory yes, there would be gains but less than 1hp. You wont feel any difference on anything at least I didnt. Its just a pipe so it wont do mucn. I replaced mine becasue the OEM uicp is garbage and it also expands. The ETS uicp is 10/10 on quality, looks, and fitment.
