Finally!

Aloha Peeps,

Heh bin trolling this site for many years now dreaming about owning an evo. Ever since Gran Turismo 2 I Believe lol. Well that 13 year old dream is finally here!! I got my hands on a 2008 WW Evo GSR with the SSS Package. Though I Believe I'll hold off on modding till after the 60k mile maintenance.

Yes i'm probably going to do a AMS turbo back exhaust and tint. It already has an UICP, intake, and HKS BOV. I might want to change out the head unit too so i have an ipod interface. I tried it with with the RCA cables and its just all scratchy and not clean at all. Also, is it supposed to sound like a fan (whirling sound) when the ac is cranked up high. around 75% its starts and at 100% power its really loud.

Heh yeah i know but i figure i'd save for the 60k maintenance because i heard it was around 1600-1700. Plus im debating if i should change the clutch while im there since its gonna be at the dealership anyways. Change the tires to Falken PT-722's when these advans go bald so they will last a little longer but still have grip too.

You'll find that the 60k maintenance will cost you less than you think. The expensive service is for an Evo MR due to it's SST fluid change. You'll need to get your trans and diff fluids changed, and maybe get your rad flushed, but it shouldn't cost you more than $500. Don't bother getting your clutch changed until you need to, especially since its an 11hr job at the dealer.
From personal experience, I'd stay away from Falken tires. They're cheap, but they tend to wear quickly and the grip is only so-so. I'd burn through a set easily in one season, driving as a daily driver only (no track). Continental ExtremeContact DW or Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tend to be a more popular pick.
