Evo X GSR shifter linkage part number

I need the part number for this "c-shaped" clip pictured below near the top of the image. Also, is this part Evo X specific, or would one from a five-speed Lancer work? Mine decided to pop off literally in the middle of nowhere leading to me thinking my transmission had silently exploded. Luckily my friends & I were able to pinpoint the problem & temporarily fix it, but it ruined a full day of our trip.

Note, I found the picture online.

I've got an 800 mile drive today & mine is being held together by zip ties-- it worked for the 150 miles I drove yesterday, but I'd like to get the piece on order as soon as possible.

Please help.

I accidentally posted this in the part number request thread, not realizing it was generation 1-9.

Quick question-- I found a few threads here & on other forums while googling, but nothing specific--

Is this a common problem, to the point of where I should order multiple clips? We were driving mountain roads in East Tennessee when the clip popped off, but nothing crazy. The car just rolled 11k miles yesterday & is my autocross car, so it will see some stress, versus daily driving.

Why not post the part# that you found/ordered so if someone else runs into this problem they can find it??

I plan to do just that once I identify the correct part. My ordered parts won't arrive till Friday.

I'm hoping this thread may help someone in the future.

I missed the above post, but you're welcome.

My damn clip fell off again last week. What a terrible design, man. I ordered two this time & will keep the second in the car. This is ridiculous.

Must be more to it than the clip sliding or falling off? There must be another reason why it's doing so.

^ One would think, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out why. Both times it's happened has been under somewhat heavy acceleration (maybe 3/4 getting on the freeway)-- that's the only common denominator I can pinpoint. The incidents were two years & 10k miles apart.

When I secured the clip this time, I wrapped it with zip ties to hold as best as possible. I also bought another clip to keep in my glove box (next to my zip tie split) so I'm not SOL this time. I'll just check it regularly to make sure it's still there.

thank you!

Thank you for this post! I just had the same thing happen last night under heavy acceleration. This thread got me looking in the right place right off the bat. FYI what I just did was to loop a zip tie through the little clip ends that protrude after its put on all the way. Hope that will help.

This clip may have fallen off of my gear linkage a while ago and my shifter went all OVER the place today. I was freaking out until I found the source and discovered it's just a little clip.
