daytime running lights problem, maybe
daytime running lights problem, maybe
So I recently purchased my car. Did not really notice anything wrong with it. My sister bought her evo x 1 week after I did. I notice when her lights are off, her daylight lights are on. At first I did not even know evo x came with running lights. So I noticed my daytime lights do work when i unlock or lock my car. But don't work when i drive. Can anyone help me out with this. Thank you\

I'm assuming you purchased the car used? If so, do you know if your x came with the "SSS" package (hids, Rockford fosgate system and larger spoiler)? I have seen issues with drls when the hids from the SSS Evo were installed in a non SSS Evo.
Sorry for the lack of info. But yes my car was purchased used and it is the SSS package. (hids, rockford fosgate system, and larger spoiler).

I have a 2011 EVO X GSR with the SSS and my DRL on my passenger side doesn't come on. I changed the blub and even changed the fuse. Still doesn't turn on. Only my drivers side does. I wanted to ask before I take to the dealer. I believe I still have my warranty, but I wanted to try to fix the problem myself first. Sorry for the noob question.
^Bump for someone to chime in on this please?! I've had my headlights blacked out for a few years and they've always burned out relatively quickly but I really like the look with the amber bulbs. It went out recently and I can't figure out why it's not getting power. And yes I replaced the bulb, I checked the plug and it's not getting power.

Did you check for power at the fuse?
If you have power before the fuse, that means its an issue some place after that. Such as the fuse or wiring etc.
Yes, you can disable the DRLs via ETACs, but you can't turn off one and leave the other on, so that could only be the issue if both aren't working.
I saw what I thought was the fuse in the main fuse box in the engine compartment but it looked more like a relay to me so I wasn't sure how to check the power on it. Also I have power to the drivers side so I figured it wasn't blown. Should I try to figure out which wire coming from the main fuse box goes to the passenger side drl? That seems like it might be difficult but I guess nobody said it was gonna be an easy fix.
It could be your relay. I believe its the same as your fuel pump one. if that's the case I would also change out your fuel pump relay. They are know for going bad. SSP sells a kit of six to change them out for the new ones.

Perhaps u need new bulbs?
