How much invested???

How much money do you guys typically have invested in your Evo? IE parts, tuning, suspension, etc etc…I just typed up a list of stuff I wanted to "finish? my car and it's in the $14k range! I already dropped like $6k...

That's a tough question to quantify. The overall total really depends on many different variable which includes a person end goal, person preference, quality of parts, etc.

I have $0 invested besides the price of the car. Here's my issue.

First off, I do not want to risk voiding the warranty.

Second, my payments are a little high so any upgrading for the most part will come out of my savings and that is pretty much off limits.

Thirdly, I have had cars totaled in the past (neither was my fault) and a motorcycle stolen. I know (insurance wise) that you do not get a dime back when upgrading your car on after market parts. It would really suck to invest $10k on a car just to have some punk steal or crash into it afterwards.

I want to get a tune if it doesnt void warranty (leaning towards Cobb AP). After I pay it off then I might be looking into investing a little into it. But at this time in my life I would rather spend $10k on a larger back patio and hot tube than on the Evo. I know I am the exception in the Evo community. But after the Evo (as we know it) is discontinued and the used inventory shrinks, I will be one of the few in my city where I am an original owner (with service records) of a stock Evo.

I think my parts list is around 10k with no body mods on the list yet. But my list is ever changing.

Heck I have a 2000 Saturn SC1 with over 12k invested in it. Over 6k (and counting) on the 2008 Sky Redline. The Evo "wish list" is upwards of 20k - the rims alone were 4.

about 12k in performance and audio parts...best part is it didn't come out of my pocket. Car came that way and I didn't have to pay for any of it.

This. The only things I have bought for my Evo are original parts (JDM/MR center console conversion) and about $500 worth of detailing items to keep her glowing.

The only things I have planned for her are a clear bra and maybe a greddy catback. Other than that she is staying stock. Plenty fast for me already

I second this, even though my car is currently lightly modded. It would just make me cry.

Less than 5k and I'll probably stop there... don't think I wanna invest anymore money into it.

Since I said 5k, I keep thinking of little things I've bought and/or parts I have sitting around waiting to be installed. So maybe around $7k.
