Actually charging retail, but then giving a "local owner discount". Discount is discount, and there doesn't appear to be outrageous mark-up on the products. I mean if I were to buy those parts I would end up paying the same.

About the only thing I would save on, is doing the labor for the install myself, but a shop can only operate if it makes profit. The labor charge doesn't seem that ridiculous either for just a quote.

parts list is solid too. All great quality. Probably take you up to the 330-350whp

That exhaust is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Get something cheaper and save a mint. You aren't getting dollar to performance ratio on that cat-back at all.

you can install all that stuff yourself, down pipe is a PITA but everything else is cake. If you jack up putting nuts and bolts together you have issues...that is all.

Yeah it's a Tomei, it's fully titanium, so it's super light (like 9lbs or something).

I personally spent less and wen with a GReddy Ti-C, but, $1100 for a Tomei is actually no markup over msrp, so it's a fair price.

Aren't all catbacks about the same? Unnoticeable gains in performance between brands (besides weight, sometimes) ... the only true difference is in fitment, durability, and most of all sound... so wouldn't the best performance to price ratio just be the absolute dirt cheapest catback out there?

Just go for it and get it over, let them install everything like this you dont have to worry if anything goes wrong during installation.
Great price on everything

Well, yes a lot of catbacks make around the same power, but most sound totally different. Prices vary off build quality, materials used, sound, and fitment. If you buy a dirt cheap exhaust, that means it will might/prolly will fit like ****, sound like ****, and the welds will break in a few months of use. It could hang super low and hit all kinds of stuff- which im sure it will.. Even buschurs exhausts did that when they first designed them. And most likely it will be heavy as lead.

If you are super concerned about prices, or came from the DSM world or Honda scene and don't believe in spending some cash on a nice exhaust, just keep browsing the forums until you find a nice used quality exhaust for a good price.

9lbs? That's incredibly light. If it wasn't $1100 I'd go for it.

I just noticed that touge factory sells piping, hangers, and flanges to make your own titanium exhaust.

I think I am going to go with the Cobb 3 inch TBE. I love the weight of the Tomei but I just can't get past the somewhat fart can appearance.

Plus I think the Cobb TBE sounds the best.

Can I still run all the other products I mentioned like the AMS pipes and fit them to the Cobb TBE and get the same gains?

Thanks

Nick

Yea. Does Cobb only make a short downpipe or a O2/DP like the AMS one? You can get the Cobb Catback and testpipe/high flow cat but still go with an AMS downpipe. Or you could just get everything AMS except the Catback.
