DRL problems

So I bought my wife's car with one DRL burned out. A couple weeks later I changed out both sides, but two days after changing them the same light is out again? What the hell?

Don't even sweat. I got burned out DRL's and had them changed before as well. Now I don't even bother with them.....

hey man, i had some issues with my DRL too, never figured it out. The electrical system for the evo DRL's has something funky going on with it.
i *thought* one of mine was burnt out, but then came back on again, only to die a few days later for good. I replaced both DRL's, but that one passenger DRL refused to come on even though the bulb was new.
Had about 2 days of frustration trying other bulbs and troubleshooting and whatnot while i waited for my service appointment.
A day later, the bulb turned on, and it's stayed on since then. Needless to say, while i was doing my research, i found a TON of DRL threads that never got resolved. Most people end up just running without the DRL's, or replaced under warranty.

so there's a chance that your bulb was never burnt out in the first place

Thats crazy. Do the base GSR's have the DRL's? If so I guess I should keep an eye on mine. I have never had an issue with the DRL's in my Eclipse though

I had the same problem. It ended up being a marginal ground, and was fixed under warranty.

Anyone know if the relay could be the culprit in burning them out?

Yes! My hands are big and cut the hell out of them changing them in the first place. Pisses me off even more.

Marginal ground seems the likely culprit, any idea where the ground was? Mine is no longer covered by warranty...

Do the base GSR's have DRL's? Or only when you have the SS package or a MR?
