I asked this same question a while back and most people condemned them to hell a few people said they have had no problems with them..others say the stock shocks will blow on them...I ended up getting a killer deal on some Tein S.Tech springs...still need to put them on tho lol

In my opinion they really aren't that great in terms of handling. I had tried them before on my miata and thought that they were just way to stiff granted they were10k/8k but they just could not handle really high frequency stuff very well.

However, are they undriveably bad? No. If you are looking to just lower your car and get a more aggressive feel from your suspension then yes it will meet your needs. If your looking for a better handling or track oriented setup then look elsewhere.

On the EvoX FB page someone was thinking about it, and I think there was a 15person assault (myself included) to talk them out of it. The owner ended up getting a great deal on KW from MAP and loves his better choice.

If you are looking at megans only because of the super low price, for the price point I would consider BuddyClub or KSports first. But, it's hard to find complaints about the KWs

KWs are nicely digressive in bump. Megans, along with 99% of all the pick-your-favorite-color crap from those two pathetic factories in Asia, are not.

KSports are made here Gilbert, AZ. However, the springs they use generally ordered from overseas. But it really is the the shock portion that makes the biggest difference.

I know I'm splitting-hairs on this one, not intending to be a douchebag about it. It's more of a FYI for those that just like supporting US companies. Overall, I think ksports are the option for someone who demands coilovers yet should really consider some swift springs on OE shocks.

With all that said, when I found they were a local business to me, I think I'm going to try them anyhow. If it really end up not liking them I'll just end up going to KWs.

meh... im on megans track coilover... i got it for $200... its a hell of a deal... im going Ohlins soon anyways... but as far as Megans... they are decent. i can say this that its better made than Ksport... ive had ksport on my previous cars before and i swore to never get KSport again. as for getting Megan on my X, it was just 200 bucks and i wanted to give it a try. granted, i will NEVER take my car to the track with Megans.

Until a few months ago, I always lumped K-Sports in with Megan et al. (i.e., the pick-your-favorite-colors companies), partly because I thought they came from the same infamous factory, but mostly because I've been in a car with K-Sports and it rode like a car on Asian coilovers. But then very recently a vendor that I have a lot of respect for engaged me in a very pleasant and open conversation. The spokesperson admitted that K-Sports have had terrible valving in the past, but also claimed that they're getting better. I couldn't get a dyno plot from him (or anybody else), but I, at least, moved them from my "Asian crap" list to my "maybe" list. If you care, I also moved Fortune to the "maybe" list at about the same time, because I saw some plots of their newest shocks are they are (finally!) digressive, albeit with a tad more hysteresis than I'd like. In other words, two companies that do assembly or more in the US are becoming possibilities to me. And, being patriotic, if not jingoistic, I'm delighted by this.

But this thread is about Megans and those are utter crap.

buddy has the ksports on his X MR and on his VII track beast. It sits too low IMO, but I'm not sure if he just dumped it down, or if there's some room to move them up a bit. Anyhow, I heard the same info from him about the valving being better. I think I'm going to try them, and if they don't make the grade for DD use, then I'll let you know.

Yeah back on topic. Megan.... *shudders* OP just get the KWs you'll be happy.

I had fortune 500's on my VIII GSR for about 10k mi they were stiff but handling for spirited DD was great. It was suggested that I put swift springs on them to soften up the ride a bit. I have bought Megan exhaust parts and they worked great, sounded great and I had no problems with them. It was full O2 housing back exhaust on my VIII. No personal experience with the CO's.
