First Post. Question Please

Hello everyone been lurking your forums for awhile now and would like to give everyone a big thanks for all the information I have been able to gather.

Currently I am in 2011 CTS-V but due to work it will be going away. So I am looking for something to replace it with.

Horsepower and handling along with where I can take the car as far as modifications go means a lot more to me than the interior

I want the cheapest fastest best handling car that can be modified and it has to act as my daily driver 80 mile round trip.

It has really come down to two cars at this point the Evo X and the 2013 boss.

The GSR is going to cost me about 38k with the Exterior Package plus a new trunk with the Do-luck and no wing or repaint is going to be around another thousand.

I know this is a very vague post but if anything I just wanted to say thanks for all the awesome information everyone provides here.

I dont know what you're looking for exactly but I would go with the Evo. The Boss is powerful stock but the Evo's make good power on just bolt-ons pretty quickly. The Evo can out do just about any car around a track due it its S-AWC system. But it all comes down to what you want and what you are looking for in a car. I not all that knowledgeable so hopefully someone here who knows more about both cars will help you out a bit more.

Sorry if that is against the rules. I was just really impressed with (astonished) to see that 4 cylinder car not only keep up but appear to close in on one of the most powerful stock cars that GM offers.

The mustang hits 11 on 1/4 mile with radials. The car itself also cost 43k base price.
I would say find the lowest mileage used evo x (under 10k miles). Say 30k used price. So for 13k you can do what you need to to bring the evo into 11's, easily. And still get 20-27mpg cruising

The fuel economy will likely be better with the Mustang, since you mentioned 80miles round trip per day. I do about 53mi RT and I'm filling up often

evo compared to a mustang, two completely different cars, AWD to RWD, apples to oranges, evo by far will have better handles from the factory than the mustang, and the power these things make with bolt-ons, well speaks for itself, theres a million videos out there with stock block and bolts ons running 11s all day

Even if I didn't own an Evo,I would still recommend one for your needs. You need to test drive one and see for yourself what you think. I promise you, it's going to feel slooooow in stock form, especially coming from a CTS-V.

Thanks everyone.

Sorry about the Video, Mods. Should have read the rules a bit better.

I just cant seem to find another car that handles like the evo that can be built into a very quick machine for anywhere close to the dollar equivalent. yeah I could buy a faster car stock but it seems a lot easier to add HP then it does AWD.

I don't have enough money to have both a project car and a DD so one of those will have to take a back seat. stopping at the gas station all the time and driving in traffic with a GSR is not appealing in the least bit. The question for me to figure out is if the pain is worth the outcome.

one really cool thing will be to have a car in a few years that is no longer made or is made but not the same. I'm like a lot of others here in I hate seeing my model car all over the highway.

I know this forum will be a great resource in helping me along my journey.

Y not keep the cts-v? Or cost to much?

The Evo is not a good commuter car. Gas mileage is crap. I think I avg 18mpg when I was on pump.

Power is weak compare to the mustang. Mustang gets better gas mileage too I believe.

Cost is a factor and its not really the car I want. Had to have it for work. I am only averaging 15 in it so going up to 18 will be about the same.

I think what I need is something I can put work into so I stop buying and selling cars all the time. For some reason when I envision upgrading the Evo I get the sense of excitement. The same thing for some reason or the other does not apply to V8 RWD.

Maybe AMS is just too good at advertising or that fq400 has me in a trance. When you look at the EVO with some HP behind it, damn it looks good.

Maybe I am bored as hell and need something to look forward to other than the same routine everyday. IDK but for some reason I cant shake the urge to buy and blow a bunch of money on the Evo.

I grew up pretty poor and was in 4 cylinder trucks into my 30s, Maybe I am looking for revenge :P

Or maybe this Video is messing with my head.
