Would you use this Mitsubishi Dealership?

To cut a long story short my wife's Evo X went into a Local Mitsubishi dealership back in February of this year to have the center diff replaced, not by my choice but since the vehicle was still under the factory warranty.
They repaired the gearbox but since then it has been back several times, they have even had it back out trying to resolve the faults.
Anyway as of last Wednesday I decided enough was enough. It was becoming clear that these guys were probably not the right people for the job. I then set about getting the gearbox removed and checked over by someone else.

Now this car has only be serviced by Mitsubishi Dealers and has a full service History

I have over 60 photo's of what I would call "poor workmanship" but I'll just post up a few so you get the idea

Draining the gearbox after only 150km's of getting the car back from having it repaired. Whats the Mitsubishi part number for silver oil?

If it doesn't fit get a bigger hammer

Is this normal for a bell housing bolt

Right drive shaft

Loose rear gearbox mount bolt

Some more Sealant

Probably a little hard to see in this pic, but the right Poppet spring has been damaged by over tightening and then has been hitting the selector shaft. ( I wonder why First gear was so hard to select )

is there something missing that would normally cover that hole

WTF where are the locating dowels???

This is the seal for input shaft and it is in upside down.

Damn where did they get there training from.
That just looks like they don't want to have to install a new tran to me they act like W work hours are not enough money for them to do it on.
Lazy shop I would say.
Hope you are able to get it fixed by some one that wants to work on cars and likes fixing them.
Total shame.

Send these photos to your Regional MITSUBISHI Representative and any other Official MITSUBISHI Office(s)! This is rediculous! They abused your car! It looks like a bunch of monkeys worked on this poor car! Tell them you're sending the photos to a newspaper, etc. if they don't react...Best of luck and sorry to hear!

I have to agree with one of the post above that I have seen worse. Most of that seems to be done by over tightening. Chance are is that you machanics version of torque specs is either impact tight or good enough by hand. Had a similar issue with my 11 Gt500 when they did a tranny overhaul. Fortunately for me I decided to lift it on stands and realized my wire harnes was no longer pinned up and was just resting on the cats. Sealant was also everywhere. Had to repair it myself.

I would communicate your concerns with the dealership and try to get some benefits for the issues. Obviously, you should research a better dealership service shop for warranty work.

I'd use that dealership.....

For their toilet. I'd take a roll of TP and jam it down the hole, followed by a strategic ****splosion. To crown my masterpiece I'd throw in all the business cards from the various sales/finance/service reps that take up space in my wallet.

I'd feel pretty good about it too, until I saw my EVO again. Then I'd have to flip out, maybe cause a seen.....who knows, but I get emotional when stuff goes wrong with my whip.

I'm guessing they lost the spacer on the back of the fuel rail that's why it's loose. Also, that can be considered a fire hazard and u can sue that dealership for mishandling ur car as bad as that. The fuel rail can vibrate enough to cause leakage and start an engine fire.

Call mitsubishi corp and send them those pictures. I hope they don't just "fix" ur car, I hope they give u a brand new evo for that hassle and possibly a death trap of a car.

it would seem they cannot read their own manuals as the first gear speed rail switch is in the wrong place. the one with white paint on it.

I should have also mentioned that they also replaced the synchro's on second and third gears as it was hard to select these gears. My mechanic rang me today to say that third gear synchro was stuffed, but four gear synchro was brand new. The muppets replaced the wrong one.
Also the center diff needed a .3mm spacer the bring the preload up to factory specs.
Some good news if you can call it good news. The silver oil was caused by them not cleaning the gear box correctly from when the center diff failed and as we had only traveled 150km there should be no lasting damage.

I wouldn't call that good news....I'm sure you and your new mechanic are exceptionally thorough, but at this stage I'd be worried that there is more damage that you are not seeing. I'd spend some cash and get an attorney to write Mitsubishi asking for a new t-case and box.
