Exclamation Evo X SST - Intercooler piping size issue "Need Recommandations"

Gentlemen's,

i'll be tuning my car soon n im expacting 360hp on flywheel, as i bought the K&N typhoon air intake kit, i got ICUP together with it, K&N UICP is based on stock piping which im guessing its 2.375", as showen on pic below:

n most of aftermarket ICUP is 2.5",

so do u think if i upgrad my ICUP from 2.375 to 2.5, it will help me in performance wise or air flow on OEM intercooler?

Share your knowledge plz

No, with a stock intercooler you will see no difference since your current piping is the same size as the stock FMIC inlet. Also, fix your BOV to 100% recirculate.

ETS LICP fits with the MR and it's trans-cooler. The how-to install thread is even done with the MR.

IMO replacing the LICP is a nice upgrade, you'll get to ditch the stretch the OE rubber one does when it's hot. Probably won't make any extra power from it, but when I switched mine, I did notice better throttle response

It appears that K&N kit is very much like the Greddy IC piping kit. You only get the portion you showed, and the lower piping that replaced the rubber hose to the TB. The two stock hardlines in and out of the intercooler stay. The bonus with the Greddy kit I guess is it comes with a larger compressor outlet pipe. Your kit kind of looks weird though having a red pipe going into an aluminum pipe. I lucked out and just ended up polishing my stock pipe. You can't tell the difference.

Anyhow, like Kracka said, with the stock intercooler any gains will be negligible. You already replaced one of the more important IC pipes. If you want to do something else, just do the LICP like someone else suggested and get rid of the stock rubber garbage piece.
