Weird break up top of gears
Weird break up top of gears
Hey guys
So I bought my 2012 GSR couple months ago. My car is completely stock except for a CBE. When I get on it wot I notice right as the car passes 7k it will start breaking up and back firing. I'm not hitting the rev limiter for on evo x is set at 7500. Is this the result from evo x's running pig rich up top. The car pulls great. Like I said this only happens right after 7k rpm. Was wondering if anyone else has this problem.
Thanks for the help
Chris

LOL when I read you saying "It pulls great up till 7k" I had to chuckle. My 11GSR factory tune pulled so much power out on the top end it sucked...until I got tuned, then it pulled like crazy all the way to fuel-cut.
Honestly, because I felt so much power drop off above 6k on stock tune, I never pushed the car past 7k. Optimal shift point was like 6200.

Just to through another value in the mix, I believe that factory fuel-cut is at 7300. It's the internet after all, so the more values we include in this thread, the better, since we'll get more hits when people search. And it's hits that matter, not accuracy, right?

^ I believe that's what I found on stock tune too (7300), but like I said, everything in the 6k range on stock tune was power loss, not gain. With the short gears in the GSR it was better to just grab the next gear earlier than later.
