I want the BOV sound!

Ok, I have done some research but I haven't found people who actually had problems with Blow off valve. So how many of you who actually does have an aftermarket BOV on your X have had problems???

Also, My dealer told me if I get a BOV make sure to get an aluminum BOV.. That won't void the warranty? Is there any truth to this?

and my last question is.. Will an intake really make my stock DV as loud as BOV? If so, which one will make it the loudest? CAI? Short ram?

Why do I want a BOV? because I am a ricer, dumbass, idiot.. whatever else you wanna call me. I just want that sound.

Thanks for your help!

Yes, changing the intake will make the stock BPV much louder.

Its not that it has to be aluminum. Its that it has to be aluminum construction with a purple anodized exterior. Otherwise moisture will destroy you from the BOV up.

No problem with BOV on Evo X .... but you have to have a tuner modify your tables!

If you like the sound, go for it!

It's no different to liking the sound of a nice exhaust!

Here is a HKS SSQV ....

Start with an open-element intake, if you still want more noise get something like the Cobb XLE BPV or Synapse DV.

You can hear the stock DV noise by swapping out the paper panel filter with something like an HKS or K&N. I have the HKS.

if you go full vta you will need a tune...not recomended for the X anyways....best is fully recirculated but a 50/50 is louder like a full vta but still throws alot of the boost back in to the intake...I have he turbosmart and ran 50/50 for a few months with zero issues attached to a Typhoon...one problem with it is the positioning so keep that in mind when getting an intake/bov....I am going to get a new strut bar which will be in the way of the open part of the bov so I am running fully recirc with it..its a bit more quiet but still pretty damn loud...even fully recirculated its louder than this video(not mine) but the pic below shows what I mean about placement.

Love the HKS SSQV... in fact, I am selling mine because I had to go big Tial 50mm for my big turbo setup. If you're interested it does come with the HKS ssqv flange (alone costs $33) and the Injen silicone recirc tube & clamp. Hit me up... PM/txt/call

lol yeah the way the bov was flipped at first the open end tip was really close to the pipe and I didnt think it would touch it...but with normal engine movements and the pipes moving it scraped it a handfull of times its not deep by any means just a scratch in the wrinklecoat...I know im a retard lol I already had a facepalm moment over it!

and armysoldier1073....are you friends with Zach Douglas?? lives here in columbus...

Even though the Synapse DV is one of the best dv/bov for the X, the Synapse DV is quieter than the stock DV. So if you want the sound and not the performance, go with the HKS SSQV.

Keep the stock BOV and get an aftermarket intake.
