I've been following the news. Can't wait

If it helps the OP though, I haven't had any problems with '11. So far 20k miles in 15months.

i would say 2010 so you can still switch tuned maps on the fly, can't do it with 2011-2013

I bought a new 2011 mr it was good but I missed manual shifting. When I did a couple of back to back pulls the tranny overheating light came on. So I don't see how people with MR's making decent power don't have tranny problems when mine would overheat with no mods. I ended up trading it in for a new 2011 gsr and I couldn't be happier. Don't forget to change out the relays, mine were junk within 2,000 miles. That's probably why your 2013 falls on its face past 5k.

Thank you for that info,im starting to feel better that I did go for the MR.
I wish I could have grabbed the 5 speed, but was rear ended in a car wreck & had spinal fusion on my neck & pain is really bad, plus a torn acl right knee when i was 17.
Just cant have the fun I used to.
One of my favorites was high speed roaller coasters.
Ill trade for a car this is quick even though 400/400 is my end goal.
Im not even close to that now.
right now im only 296whp/292tq Its gonna take me a while to get to that level.
Just a tune & a drop in k&n.

Just have the concern about long term.

I have a 2012 MR which I got new in July. I have a little over 6k miles and I just had a weard issue with it. It is at the dealer and they are doing a warranty repair.
From what I was told, one of the coil packs was melting due to higher voltage coming out of the ECU.
I hope they fix the issue soon.

I thought this issue was fixed for the 2011s and up....guess I'll have to swap mine out with the DRL one and see if it makes a difference. Scary thought with the possible lean out conditions lol

to the best of my knowledge Mitsu isnt changing them from the factory. I know Road Race Engineering changes them for you when you have them tune your car here. I dont know if tuners across the country do the same.

That's good info man...so swapping the relays between the fuel and DRL is a known fix but is it a permanent solution or is an upgraded relay a must?

Either something was wrong or your car was in some intense heat. Guys do multiple pulls all the time.

Man they fall so flat above 5k rmp. It needs a tune bad. I miss being able to pull hard to redline.
i noticed the 5k fall during my circuit drives...i did a drop in filter and it really woke up after 5k...amazing how the ecu responded

I have a 2012 and I was really surprised by the numbers I made. I have seen some of the 2012's make low numbers in the dyno section though.

I'd recommend 2011+ because of the little improvements they made over the years (mainly the timing chain for me).

I don't know it was only 70 degrees out. I'm glad to hear that other mr's can take some abuse.

I ordered my relay kit from South Side Performance. They have the new black relays, as far as I know those are the latest and greatest.

Yah, I had an 08 MR... it killed it at the track (road course). I actually never had 1 overheat, but I also changed my fluid / filter early and had fog light delete kit installed.
