Ultimate Racing Cat Back Install

I did some research on this but the thread is from 2009. Not sure if the design of the exhaust or Evo has changed any since then. I ordered that catback for now and should have it this friday. Has anyone recently installed it on a 2012 Evo? I read the other thread that said he had to cut the heat shield. Is this something that is still an issue? Any other advice would be great as well. I am sure I can figure it out but any tips or tricks to making it easier would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

As long as the flanges match you shouldn't have a problem. Exhaust will attach right after your heat shield... not sure why he had to cut his?

I had the same issue with my Invidia q300 exhaust. the heatshield extends just past the flange so i was having a hard time getting the gasket and exhaust to line up to the cat. You may have to cut/bend or just take off the heat shield around that section in order to get it to fit. I have a 2011 GSR so it may be completely different for you i couldnt tell you.

Thanks guys. I guess I will have to wait and see. Sucks, thought I ordered it in time to get in Friday but it may be Monday. That is going to be torture having to look at it until the next weekend. Maybe I am odd but that is going to be really tough.

I tried installing my mxp exhaust a week ago and the heat shield was a problem, if the piping is 3 inches then you will have to modify the heat shield. I'm taking mine to a shop that can properly modify the heat shield so there is no vibration.
