WW paint, I got an issue...

Anyone else see stains in your paint? My car runs hella rich, so the trunk is black. When I wash the X I see stains from the rich spots in my paint? Anyone else? I'm gonna try polishing one of these days but time...

More like a darkening of the white. Its not so bad unless you look at the hood afterwards, and get blinded by that white.

I have that same problem only I have a RR evo. The best thing i have found is to clay the stained spots.

Get some cleaner wax or rubbing compound, it should bring your paint back to snow white. With the right product and a little elbow grease I can even get my exhaust tips looking brand new.

A quick spray-detailer'ing between washes will help keep it looking good.

i would recommend 1) clay the car 2) add a layer of sealant which gives u so much more protection than wax and make it harder for conaminates to stick to the back trunk

While clay barring is a good recommendation, your suggestion of Sealant > Wax is not true.

Both have their unique qualities, but one isn't going to give you more protection than the other.

If you are seeing darkening of your paint I would do the following:

Strip any wax left over on your car (use Dawn or use Chemical Guys Citrus Wash Clear).

Then Spray your car with IronX. It will smell horrible, but most likely your paint has large deposits of iron stuck to the paint.

Wash off with water and then clay bar.

If you want a really good prep job, proceed to polish the car with the lightest polish you have and work your way up from that if needed.

Lay down a layer of sealant, wait 12 hours and lay down a coat of your favorite wax.

I use bug and tar after each track event and it works very well and no need for much elbow grease. pictures don't do it justice.

That's how my trunk looks like after 4 days! I just wash it off. But I'm gonna clay bar it really soon.

Would that Wax be good to get some surface scratches on the top of the door handle from a ring? If that is a cleaner/cutting type wax I would think that would work.

A wax has no surface cutting abilities as they contain no abrasives.

You might want to look into an all-in-one that contains light abrasives and some polymers like that in a sealant.

If you want to go traditional, I would use a light cutting polish. Menzerna is the best I've used. Then put on a layer of wax/sealant on top to protect the freshly polished area.
