Evo X Launch Control Question
Evo X Launch Control Question
As folks here know... the Evo x comes with a 2-step from the factory. Once you engauge it it starts bouncing around 5800-6000. Just wondering how people are able to make that bounce REALLY FAST
.
Saw this video
the EVO X at 3:20 is kinda where I wanna be
.
Appreciate your input guys.
Thanks.

thats ether two step set stupid high or his rev limiter....im going to assume its the revlimiter
with that said theres two different types of two step, fuel cut (stock factory one) and ignition cut. ignition cut is the cool looking one, loud pops with faster "bouncing" and usually depending on the retardation of timing has flames

So ignition cut all depends on the tune?
^^^^^^Yes it is all about the tuner. Also this is not closely related to your stock ecu , but it is interesting to know i guess.
The ignition cut type of tune is the one which damage the turbo more. You want a fuel cut type one, that is a new direction. Also that is why you dont see flames that often anymore with a new tunes (proper ones) like you did before.
Also the speed of the bouncing/poping, depends on the ECU you using, and the quality of the tune you get.
Example the stock ECU launch control pops slowly as we all know.
The good after market ecu's which are faster then a stock ECU, are pops perhaps faster.
The fastest ECU for the EVo right now is a Pectel. Not the Cosworth labeled one.
The Motec and the Gems are the close second.
Any other ECU right now on the market, you should not even bother.
This is how the Pectel tuned Launch control sounds , so you can guess how much faster and better that ECU is.
this is a bit slower Gems launch control, with an old style ignition cut tune:
forward to 39 sec this video. The first seconds he just turns on the ALS, then after 1 minute mark you hear the launch control.
Launch control should be not bounce more then 3 sec. 5 second bouncing is already too long.
