I need some help, trying to figure out what's going on with my evo x mr. Here is the video.



Anyone know what the problem might be? could it be the MAF sensor?

In the video, my foot is off the accel pedal the whole time.

Yeah, normally "Rev Hang" is absolutely normal. But the shi* you got going on so not normal. lol. idk man.

Did you buy it new? Used? Any mods? Any recent work done?

 

This, and who tuned it?

 

The car is used. Stock and I did all the mods on it. It has bolt ons:
Invidia q300 catback exhaust
Invidia downpipe
Injen intake with uicp
Cobb ebcs
Ngk racing competition spark plugs

It's tuned on 94octane by APH in toronto.

Been trying to figure out what is wrong with it. Maf maybe? Or I have a leak?

 

APH tuned my car from Toronto.

 

Leak in the throttle body. Pull it off and put it up to a light. You shouldn't be able to see any light at all. This would cause that problem. Could be other things as well...

I have this same problem... its super annoying...makes me look like an idiot at lights all the time

 

What's the cause of it? Does your rev and hang high rpm like mine? Did you get it fixed?

 

So you did all the mods... how recently did you start getting the idle hang and/or what was the most recent mod? Was it the EBCS? I wonder if there is a vac issue.

 

no recent mod. Ran the tune for more then a year already. It just started yesterday night. When I'm at a complete stop, the car would rev on its own to like 3k-4k rpm. then bounces like in the video.


I hope it's nothing major.

Hopefully more members could help me out. I was wondering if it could Vac leak or Maf sensor.

 

Have you checked all your connections (couplers and vac lines) at the intake, uicp and ebcs?

 

Vac leak, though the throttle body is an interesting idea.

 

Ya my car has been doing exactly the same thing as yours. But i have a gsr so i have to pump the clutch to get it to kinda stop. it only does it randomly. It will also hold the rpm for me at about 3k if i try and engine break around that rpm...and as soon as i hit the brakes it stops and engine brakes. it started after a tune. But the car otherwise runs fine and still hits full boost and everything is normal. except for this freak rev hang thing
