No offense to anyone but I hate the 08+ Rally Red that Mitsubishi decided to switch too. Rally Red was always bright gloss red, not Metallic Burgundy. The shade of red on this Evo X is what we should've been offered from the factory imho.

change is inevitable. plus, you cant please everybody. you don't like the new rr? i'm sure every rr owner loves the current rr color. that's why car companies give you choices.

i could care less about the brightness of the paint. i wish mitsu spent a little more money on the quality tho. i honestly think mitsu uses the cheapest paint in the auto industry. even my friends hyunday elantra seems to have less rock chips then my evo and he has over 20k more miles than i do.

It's the only color that matches the red tail lights on the 08's...

I like the new RR color, at first I was unsure but it grew on me. I've never been a fan of red cars before...

My point is that they strayed away from the Rally color though. Lancers were designed to be rally cars and the Lancer is literally a street legal rally car. I understand that change is going to happen, but why stray so far away from the cars roots? At least they haven't changed the white to a pearl white yet. So why go Metallic Red?

Also I completely agree on the paint being cheap.

Yes they do haha.

The new RR was actually my second choice after the OB. It changes things up form all the red honda's that are out there. Unfortunately I was one of those guys which is why I wanted the OB so much.

Get some Rally Armour mudflaps and get your paint touched up. I haven't gotten any new chips since putting mine on like 8 months ago.

None of the evo colors are the same.

Black & blue changed as well (previously TB & BBY). I don't like the PB as much as TB but like the new blue much better... wait that blue turned into cosmic blue nevermind. White is not the same shade of white as the older gen evos, there isn't yellow any more, now there's orange (yikes) and GG turned into a Mercury gray.... but seriously who cares? Through process of elimination... that makes Silver the best evo color because it has lasted without change......ugh.

I personally like the new RR more than the old RR. Have you ever seen the old RR turn pink? Would have matched the 08 tails perfectly.

Anyone who buys an evo for the paint (or quality of the paint) has to be insane. Scratch that, anyone who buys a Mitsubishi for the paint or paint quality has to be insane. I have owned 12 DSM/Evos & every single one had horrible paint quality. Pretty paint is not why I bought any of them.

having come from an EVO 9 in Rally Red.. the color SUCKED! It was by far the worst paint ive ever encountered on any car ive owned. within 20k miles, the front end looked like it had been through a sand storm. All of the metallic paint colors from Mitsu seem to hold up much better. And i think thats probably why every color they offer now is metallic. I happen to love the new red, but i think its because i had the bright RR on my evo 9 for over 5 years, so its a nice change...lol

I agree....the tail lights look very bad especially with the red cars. Not enough contrast.
