P0133 thread

Yes I know there are a few other threads about this CEL. However, I've read through several threads but I haven't seen many people that have successfully fixed the code. I've got a few questions that will hopefully help people like myself who can't seem to shake this pesky code.

1 - Is there anyone out there who has been able to get the code to permanently go away? If so, what did you do? I've seen several people mention that a likely culprit is an exhaust leak prior to the first o2 sensor; however, from what I can tell I don't have an exhaust leak so that doesn't appear to be what is causing the CEL for me.

The code is associated with the front o2 sensor, but I don't know of a single person that has cleared the code by installing a new front o2 sensor.

2 - If you've had this CEL, what mods were you running? Some people seem to think it could be caused by certain intake systems and/or downpipes. I'm currently running a Turbo XS downpipe and I'm wondering if that might be my problem. I'm thinking about switching to a MAP, ETS, or AMS unit but I don't really want to spend the cash if it isn't going to make a difference.

3 - Along the same lines as #2, has anyone been able to get the code to go away by changing a part (e.g. intake, down pipe, piping, etc.).

Right now my mods are as follows:

COBB IC piping
COBB intake including filter and turbo inlet hose (installed the inlet hose a few months back after I'd already had the code for 8-9 months. It didn't change anything.)
Turbo XS TBE (this was on the car when I bought it. Car had the code when I bought it.)

Your input is appreciated.

Check for exhaust leaks, a melted wire on the front O2 sensor, and/or ask the guy who sold it to you if he ever put (leaded) race gas in the car.

That's what I did...race gas (goodness it smells nice). Took a while but made the sensor unhappy.
