FP Red upgrade
FP Red upgrade
Ok doing the math here. Wouldnt it be almost the same price to buy a new FP Red from FP (2500) or buying a stock turbo ($300 more or less) and $1900 to convert plus shipping and upgraded wastegate? Feels like i'm missing something here lol. Thanks for any input guys and gals

lol thats why i said more or less lmao. I saw one for $350 but we all know we can get it for around $300. But all in all buying a used turbo to not eat the down time of your car plus shipping there and back plus buying the FP Oil line that comes with a new BB Red i think it's better to just go new and have a better piece of mind
Have you looked at MAP EF series turbos?
Much cheaper than FP turbos http://www.maperformance.com/evo-x-turbo-kits/

The MAP ef4 does extremely well. We have installed many with great results. FP makes a great turbo but saving some money and applying it to other mods has made many happy customers.
Shoot us a PM and we can work out some outstanding pricing!

Just curious, why did you all decide to go with the smaller Kelfords or is the Dyno sheet just labeled wrong?
Lol yea the FP Red seems like the best all around setup short from going T3. It really would come up close to the same price so unless i get a stock turbo for super cheap it probably best just to buy it new outright
Some one correct me I I'm wrong but when comparing the red to ef3 persay from whatbive gathered the red will spool faster but te ef3 I think is slightly bigger and flows a little more so power will be slightly more on an ef3 but again spool is slightly slower being a jb vs bb I have an ef3 and like it save me a little extra so I can get some toxic fab stuff but that's just my 2 cents but ten again this is for a x im not very familiar with those I'm goin of the 8/9 platform

not really sure of the specs of the ef3 but if the ef3 does make more power, its useless on a stock block. I made 431hp 382trq on my FP Red and that was at 26psi. Not even close to maxing it out. So unless you have a built engine that extra flow/power you get with ef3 is kinda pointless.
