Car Color regret
trust me.. the color thing is not something you'll get over lightly.. ive had my car for 6 years noe and i still regret going with black... in fact ive just now started looking for a ww to trade into
guys just seen the CB on a evo last night. I'm really starting to like this color for the EVOs and plus since this is the last year for evo (AGAIN) wouldn't this color be really rare if they do stop making one of the best AWD car to date.
When I said the color white is trendy I didn't mean just Evos. I mean the color white is a car industry wide trend right now. Yes, white Evos will be relatively rare compared to all the white Elantras and white Camrys and white Civics, but the color white has been the top selling color for like 5 years in a row now.
Sure, your white Evo might be the only Evo in the line up of 10 white cars at the grocery store, but in my opinion having a white car is way too trendy, and personally I don't even think it's in the top 5 colors the Evo looks best in. I think many people's opinions are being clouded by the current trend (which has been ongoing since the Evo was released).

Being "Anti Trendy" is a trend. It's hilarious. Thousands of people say "oh product X is too trendy and I am not trendy so I will not buy product X I will get product Y" Well now you are just part of the product Y trend.

Anyway just my two cents, like I said earlier obviously I'm in the minority since I actually liked rotor glow.
I have serious love hate with my tarmac black ix. It looks so aggressive when its clean but as soon as it gets dirty it looks ratbagged. I also find that there arent very many different styles for a black car except for pretty much murdered out, ive been struggling to set the car up to my taste. Either way I love the car and the reason I ended up with black was because it was my second choice aftr GG but I wanted a sunroof!
I picked up a 13 Mercury Gray GSR a month ago, I love it. It shows off the lines of the car nicely. I almost pulled the trigger of white, I couldn't do it. WW makes the evo look so flat in comparison. White made me feel like everyone was looking at me. Too bright!
In all seriousness, people have a pertinacity to buy the color they are most attracted to, or feel the most emotional connection with. Like shopping for an apartment or home, you envision yourself in that place before you move there. Cars are no different. Before you buy, you see yourself in car you want in the color you like, around the friends you like, driving on the road of choice. With cars, people have emotional attachment to either the function or style.
People who buy Evos leave expediency aside and tend to make emotional decisions, even down to the accessories. Should I buy the black or grey Cobb pipes? Function and style have different meanings for Evo owners. This becomes apparent when you pull up beside the Prius owner.
I think that whatever color you choose, be happy in the choice and try not to shroud yourself in regret or disappointment. Sure, there are a lot of Wicked White cars out there, but remember that your car is rare to begin with, so how often do you actually spot one? When choosing a car, I almost went with white, but chose MG since it fit my sense of self better. My wife also liked it better and felt driving the MG GSR was a better fit for her as well.
WW is the classic Evo color, like the blue body and gold wheels of the Subaru. I could have bought black, blue, white, or grey. I went with something that I felt would sit in traffic among a sea of grey cars, then explode out of traffic to everyone's surprise. My sense of self is being conservative in nature with a small dose of hysteria behind the wheel.
That said, WW is a pretty cool color on a car that will never go out of style. It has become the color of Evo.
