Take over payments?! Evo X
Take over payments?! Evo X
Is there anyone or know of anyone who is trying to have someone take over payments on there Evo X?
Kind of really don't want to go through a dealership here in PA seeing the prices everywhere else makes me a little annoyed with how over priced cars are here.
Looking for any model of the Evo X just Auto SST...
Does anyone even do this anymore or am i just getting old and naive

Given the amount of liability, people would be stupid to do this honestly.
If you want to not go through a dealer just get a loan and buy a used one. If you can't qualify for a loan on one, the person letting you take over payments isn't thinking too clearly.

Not sure if that link is going to work but that dealer has been sitting on that thing forever now, I would call them and see what they can do on price if you don't mind taking a road trip. Not sure what part of PA you're in but I randomly stopped at a lot in Somerset pa that had 2 evo viii's and an evo ix on their lot with no prices.. come to find out they wanted nearly 20k for them and they all had R titles! So yeah I can see the market for evos around pa must be pretty ridiculous.

In regards to dealer prices, I hope that you understand that Retail is different than private party (I'm sure that goes without saying). What you get through a dealership is some peace of mind. If something goes wrong, you can march back in there and demand something from them (with varying success) where they risk public backlash. With a private seller, you may buy a piece of crap and when you go back to the seller, he may tell you to go kick rocks.
What I'd suggest is that you go to a dealer prepared to buy something and negotiate a deal that you think is acceptable. A dealer will make a deal as long as they turn a profit, especially since the car can be replaced if they care to. Also what you get at the dealer is the ability to get a discounted (buy) rate vs. a normal lobby rate from the bank...just something to think about.
I doubt that anyone is going to let you take over their payments and hand you the keys to their car and hope for the best. You're just going to have to buy it from them and take out a loan yourself.
Edit: what I would suggest is your best bet is to find someone that is looking for a new vehicle that is willing to do a courtesy trade. You may be able to get the lowest price that way because they can afford to give up a few hundred or so extra dollars and still get the tax credit on the new car. You can then also have financing set up through the dealership at the buy rate because what do they care about marking up the rate? They can take their ~$2-300 flat from the bank as free money they wouldn't have seen otherwise.

If everything is "overpriced" then your perception is wrong. In other words, they can't ALL be overpriced--that is just called current market value. There is a time where it makes more sense to buy a new one vs. a used one; perhaps this is the time.

My biggest thing is i'd rather not go through a bank... I'd rather do personal payments. Which is part of the reason i posted this. But thank yall!
I guess if nothing comes up worst come to worst I take out another loan =/
If someone has a loan on their Evo currently, you wouldn't be the owner and that would make registration and insurance nearly impossible.
So that means you're asking someone to basically take all the risk of you hitting someone and driving off, and then the actual owner would take the entire fall of a hit and run. Or, what if you committed a crime like rape or murder, and the only thing linking to the crime is the car. The actual owner would take the fall.
I can understand avoiding a loan if you work a job that pays commission or something, but in the same context that means you'd be paying your payments to someone regularly for a few months then start stiffing them, then expect to catch up when the job picks up. In a case like that you're better off saving for a season or two then pulling the loan, and use the savings when the work drops off.
I understand the multiple car thing too. Besides the 11 GSR I have an 07 Focus and a 12 Legacy. But, because of those and a mortgage lenders will want *HUGE* downs or suggest you just pay cash for it. (Or at least a good lender will say that, we don't even want to go into Banks like BofA that handed 3/4 million dollar homes to people on minimum wage like it was okay for a decade
)
Check the classifieds on here too. Had a friend last year that wanted an 8 or 9 so bad he sold his X with 18k miles on it for like 24k. It was a sweet deal for the guy that bought it.
