A pipe is a pipe. I run a Megan one on my IX and its been great. No need to spend all kinds of money on a pipe like that. IMO

not all pipes are created equal.

1) The material its made out of.
2) How well the mouth 02 housing is made
3) Fitment
4) Quality of Welds. ( this will determine the longetivity of the pipe)
5) Actual result testing.
6) MFG support for the part.
7) Options ( ie coating ,etc)

honestly I would do ETS/AMS are some of the good choices.
I think the everyone will say the following:

You get what you paid for

I agree with you but only to an extent.

My $195 Megan vs a $329 AMS down pipe. Same design. Same material. Perfect fitment. Saved me $ for other parts worth spending extra on.

Now you're talking about a "copy" or "knockoff". That's different.

I've owned Megan products. They never seem to hold up over time. The materials they use appeared to be lower quality (previous header I've had with another car).

Overall, you just get what you pay for. If it's giving you what you want and what you wanted to pay for, great.

Thats how i think when it comes to car parts. NOTHING is going to perform like High quality stuff. Theres always going to be a few things that make the good stuff worth it. when i buy a high quality part, i try to look at it like a INVESTMENT.
