Evo viii --> gt-r --> evo x mr
I don't think I will ever understand that logic. The $ lost to depreciation is less than another car, another tag, more insurance, etc. GTR is comfy. Very nice IMO. Not a hassle to drive in the least. If something happens you can always replace the car. A storm could knock a tree into your garage and total the car just as easily as an accident on the road. I think you should enjoy your toys.
This^ I mean Acura TL's are fantastic rides, but only thing kept me from them was there fantastic price tag, but man those things come loaded. I don't like the newer body style as much as the 04-07 type S models, but you do get your moneys worth...
A GT-R for all badass purposes and a TL for that family luxury purpose that still packs a punch and also comes awd too..
if i hit this 425 million lotto I will own 1 AMS style GT-R and 1 AMS style MR, and something else like maybe a BRZ just because

IMO the GTR is your performance hound.
So depending on your lifestyle and commute:
-- BRZ/FR-S for fuel economy (that **** ain't going to stay cheap)
OR
-- BMW more premium comfort than Evo and BRZ, yet keeps a high level of performance for enthusiasts, but you'll always enjoy going back to your GTR when you want fast.
--Alternate Suggestion: If you commute a lot and fuel economy is important and your going to buy new and keep stock or lease..maybe VW Jetta/Passat TDi. Lots of torque, for commuting, cruises nicely on the highway. Has a lot of the tech features like the BMW, yet not all of the cost.
Seems weird to be on an Evo site, but I'm trying to talk you out of the Evo. It's just that for most of us the Evo is the closest we can get to the GTR without being able to afford one, because a built Evo is probably best $/whp that can be had, with any car. However, because you have a GTR, even if it's totally stock and you're not going to mod it at all, it's still filling a gap. Having that gap filled means that if you're going to have a daily driver, it really shouldn't be an Evo IMO.
I feel dirty suggesting a VW too. Personally I've never really liked them, but I know when my wife goes to get a new car I'm going to force her to test drive a TDi VW. It's just hard to not consider one for a DD with city 40-44mpg and highway 50-60mpg (easy). Plus the new ones offer great comfort and lots of tech. I just think if you juggled DD for daily grind, comfort and economy and GTR for weekend fun it's a great combo.

I have an evo as my "fun" car and a Prius as my more sensible daily driver.

Honestly I tried a hybrid as a daily and it sucked. Money isn't a huge issue with you (you have a get). Like you I don't want to rack lots of miles on my gtr. Since you don't need to drive a 3000 hooptie, why not get a fun dd. I did and that's why I picked up a evo mr as my daily. Best of both worlds. Life is too short to be driving a Prius. Honestly when I'm 80 I don't care how much money I have, I won't be able to use it as well as I can now.
I feel like they have no concept of lanes, turn indicators, speed limits and all other cars on the road are just position obstacles.

But yeah, hybrid DD and AWD+Turbo(s) for the fun
I put 20k on my car this first year of ownership..I didn't think I drove that much. I need to figure out how to afford a daily now. I *want* a Ford Escape/CRV/etc since it would help with buying stuff for the house, but I need to figure how how to tone my wifes spending down to afford luxuries
I need to drive a prius or other hybrid. My prejudice of them is that their economy is over-hyped and people under-rate modern clean turbo-diesel because hippies just think black smoke is "bad for the environment", but they don't consider how bad the batteries are in the hybrids. The other prejudice that keeps me from suggesting them is every prius driver I come across on the highway drives them like a Gorram Nascar driver.

TDI for sure... awesome gas mileage, plenty of low end power (torque), and the comfort of the car makes for a relaxing ride - which IMO, is all that matters for a daily driver.
edit: don't get a 2013 GT500, it'll just make the GT-R feel slow. just look at the torque it makes by 2,000 RPM:
(this is actual power being made at the wheels - the car makes 662 horse at the crank)
