ARC parts

What's the deal with ARC parts for the X? I hear they are very expensive, because of their top notch quality. I tried to search for ARC parts just to get an idea, but I cannot find them anywhere.

I have a 2008 X MR and I have been looking to add a few bolt-on parts after the holidays. It seems like most people have ETS or AMS parts; especially I/C.

Feel free to voice your opinion on which parts you recommend. Thanks!

Parts I am looking at getting:

Catback Exhaust
Intake
UPIC
LPIC
Intercooler

ARC is back in business..

And i would put those parts around 6k-7k as well. The exhaust is like 3 or 4K alone.

PM Bulletproof Automotive. They are a vendor on here and carry all the top notch JDM parts. Great Vendor..

And If you are going to speed that much on a catback I would prolly go with the Akrapovic exhaust over the ARC just on preference.. That exhaust makes me drool everytime I see it..

Overpriced? Yes.

Underperforming? No, not really. Maybe a little because most of it is geared alot towards looks and not just straight performance, but most of it performs like other bolt-ons. Just because an ETS catback costs $800 and an ARC one costs $3500 and they do basically the same thing, doesn't mean it under-performs.. It just does the same thing for ALLOOOTTT more money..

Better Looks? Yes, almost always.. but of course that is just my opinion..

If you have the money to spend, why not buy what you want?

Just a heads up guys ...

It looks like ARC just released a new improved version of their intercooler for the Evo X

I like the look of ARC, but I have no interest on spending a few grand on an exhaust alone...that's just silly.

Are ETS & AMS legit quality? It's difficult for me to tell because ETS, AMS, & ARC prices are all very different...I do not know if that is a direct correlation of their quality/performance or not.

I've taking a liking to ETS...I just want to make sure before I purchase anything that it will be quality.

Thanks!

I have a 500+ whp Evo and it runs fine on an ARC FMIC and UICP. The intake had to go, though.

ARC is for show and they are expensive because they are a boutique brand. Anyone who tells you otherwise is kidding themselves. The parts will perform fine. I'd stay away from any ARC carbon fiber bits. They are poor quality.

Yea ETS is legit. Very high quality stuff.. I'm just not a big fan of the way their intake looks.

Well, you list UICP. What a lot of people forget is that it is just a pipe. You could make one yourself, and you can paint it. Try Depo, $99 for an UPIC, and yes a titanium one will save you 10grams. And a AMS one comes with a logo that will comfort you at night. Your choice.
