Oppinions on 2008 Evo X
Whats up guys, new to this forum. I am from Toronto and im in the process of purchasing a 2008 Evo X GSR from one of the Mitsubishi dealers here.
The car is very clean and has only 41,000km they are asking 25,000.
Is it a good deal? or should i wait for another one.

i believe the 08-12' are pretty much the same platform. just different lights/rims/interior pieces.
Im going to go testdrive it today anyways.

If you're serious, then my suggestion is to get the cheapest X that has the new timing chain in it. Search around or wait for someone to comment to know what year the new chain kicks in for Canada.
08-10 had noticeably richer tunes that produced lower stock-tune dyno-numbers, and most importantly the more recent year, the less mileage it will have on it.
Mitsu hasn't changed the Evo yet to be a hybrid of whatever, so take advantage of getting as new as possible, because whenever they make the official change, that's when you'll see people get picky about finding the lowest mileage possible, and pricing will reflect it.

If I had read your post before making my reply I would of just quoted it.
To the OP, if you do decide to get an 08, come visit back and people can walk you through all the things you can do to ensure the known issues are checked and resolved. The CZ4A Evo is a very fun and street friendly car. Either way you go, you'll find a lot of it to love.
If you are buying a used one from a dealer, make sure to cross your t's and dot your i's. Make sure implied/existing warranty stuff is in black ink with signatures, if they look at you funny, or give you the "smile", have an independent shop do a compression and leak-down test and have them visually check to see if all the heatshields and turbo bolts look as factory as possible. It will save you lots of headaches.

There have been myriad threads on the fuel-pump relay. Here's a recent one: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ump-relay.html

Bingo!!!! IF you get an 08, make sure the timing chain has been replaced.
