does anyone know if this code C161E is one that will cause a failed inspection? Or is it one of those benign ECU codes like Air conditioning that does not impact OBDII scan for inspection?

Shouldn't impact emissions, looks to be a drivetrain-related issue.

You need to get tephra mod. What's happening is when you hit 28-30 boost your cars going into limp mode and cutting ayc off. Tephra will fix this.

Lol, it's not cutting ayc off, it's just overboosting and limping. If your tuner thinks its safe to hit 28 psi, they can just up the load limit so you won't hit boost cut.

The car may not be overboosting. If its tuned for over i believe 28 PSI and the tephra mod is not installed that eliminates this issue of putting your car in limp mode this will continue to happen. I know because it was happening to me after being tuned and i didnt know what the problem was. Took it to ANOTHER tuner a few weeks later, who installed Tephra and the limp mode issue was gone. Sorry i said that wrong i meant the AYC light, not the actual AYC being off lol.

P.S. I had a X back then.
