Congratulations. Great color. If you want oversteer drive with the ASC off all the way, hold it in for 3 to 5 seconds, otherwise keep it on. Imo, If u have never driven a high performance car before I highly recommend attending a high performance driving event with an instructor. Modify the driver first.

Def gonna need a driver mod. I haven't had it up above 80mph or 5k rpm's yet, still to afraid I'll screw up the car somehow. It's def not gonna be a garage queen though as it's my only car it'll have to be my DD. Rain finally stopped and it's gonna be nice over the weekend so I'm going to get it cleaned up tomorrow. Gonna try and clean the Brembo's too. Their not to bad right now but any recommendations for keeping them bright for the life of the car?

No issues with drivability so far. Biggest thing I'm having to adjust to is coming from an 09 ES I'm so used to having to floor the pedal to go anywhere, now it's almost instant. Gas is going to suck though and insurance went up a little, but being married helped that A LOT.

I don't have any big plans for it. To be honest I've been waiting to get one for so long it's almost surreal to me, actually driving it off the lot I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming lol. Def have to get the windows tinted in this one, had 20% on my ES and it was great, maybe that'll be my B-day gift for myself in March.

Anyways, it's been dreary/wet/rainy weather where I live at so here is a crappy pic. Once I get it detailed and cleaned up I'll post some better pics up
Just saw this post. Congrats, man! I remember when you very first mentioned getting an Evo. Glad to see you finally got it. Let me know if you are ever going to move down here. You'll have to let me take it for a spin

Keeping the brembos bright right is simply keeping them clean and that is a tough job with the amount of brake dust produced by the stock brake pads. If you do not track the car, i.e., heat up the brake caliper, they won't turn a darker shade either.

this board is replete with evo x cleaning tips...

Congrats on the purchase! Whatever you do, don't let Parrish drive it.

I was actually trying to teach my wife how to drive stick the other day and after she stalled it out the first time I freaked out on her, needless to say, she doesn't want to drive it anymore. Maybe it was me telling her how much it would cost to get a new clutch I haven't stalled out yet but it's been a while since I DD'd any car with 3 pedals lol.

Thanks everybody. I plan on keeping the car till the wheels fall off. Have to get used to the stock power though before I do any modding

[QUOTE=mshilto89;10608708]Well after years of waiting, patiently, I finally got me an Evo. Nothing special about it. Its a 2010, bare bones, not even the RF. Mshilto89,

Man, reading your post brought a smile to my face. You remind me A LOT of myself when I got my Evo. I bought my baby (2010 WW BONE STOCK GSR w/26,000 miles on it) about 5 months ago and I still look out my window, see my Evo parked, and smile. I was in the market for a used Evo X (blue or white) but it was so hard to find one that was close to where I lived, NOT modded, and a descent price. Luckily, I found a guy on Craigslist who was in a bind and needed to get rid of it and was selling it for a little bit more than what he owed on it. My wife didn't understand why I was so excited about the car until she FINALLY drove it one day (She has a Scion TC). Just seeing the grin on her face made me happy and it also made me take the keys away from her. lol. My car is still stock and I plan to keep it that way (except aftermarket sound system) until it's paid off. Once that's done, then I'll buy another car like an Accord or Santa Fe and then put mods into the Evo and bring out its inner demon for track days. So happy you got yourself and Evo. Enjoy the thing. You will get LOTS of compliments .. . . believe me.

Congrats on the purchase! The mod bug willbte u as soon as u get comfortable with it.

Let's just say I was only gonna look at the ww evo x that I currently own now, went in to see the car and went out driving the car and the very next day, a package came in for with that said overnight shipping "AEM", "Cobb" it was like Christmas in August for me! Haha! That was august 2011, fast forward to November 2012, my car is sitting in SEMA. Haha! Mod bug bit, and it bit HARD! Well, I'm not on a level as other evo x here in the forums, but I'm on my way.

Get used to the feel of the car and have fun! Congrats again!
