I recently bought ETS intake and it is amazing, the quality is just as good as ams and it u can hear your turbo spool up like crazy and the fact that is $100+ cheaper than ams, both are great products.

I'm waiting for my AMS intake and UICP to come in. Then I'm taking my car to CObb SOCAL to get a turboback exhaust and AP. In a month or so I am going to go back to COBB and having them put an AMS intercooler in, 3 port, and tune. I will keep you guys posted. Probably a DEFI boost gauge.

Later I'm thinking sway bars and maybe springs. Not sure on the springs I have to go over some big speed bumps.

Not trying to knock you, but the cat-back and the intercooler are super easy to install yourself. Could save your self a few bucks doing it with a buddy, and buying the AP used from the marketplace, almost half off in most cases.

At the risk of sounding ignorant, doesn't all intakes pretty much make same power once tuned properly?

Depends on the MAF sizing and if that becomes your "bottleneck" or not. I think the biggest things about the bigger brands like AMS and ETS, is that they come with a nice heat shield.

Kaizen's Sakura 3" intake also looks amazingly well build with a large fan shield.

What about the downpipe? Aren't they really hard to put in the X's?

Downpipe is more of a PITA, time consuming is more like it. If u don't have the right tools, then yeah, it will be hard.

As for intakes, untuned, any open filter will net u around 20whp since it frees up ur air flow and leans out the stock afr which is 10.5afr. Tuned, it makes upwards of 30+Whp since timing will also come into play.

Buy the one u like the most. If u have money to spare, buy an AMS intake and send me some of that money, ill send u my paypal address...just send it as gift so i dont have to paypal fees. Or if trying to save money, get ETS or anything cheaper. I personally run with aem coz it looks stock except for the fact that the top lid on their intake box/shroud has big "AEM" etched on to it.

As for boost controller, 3port bcs is a muuuuuch better route to take than manual bcs. Better control of ur boost rather than being static (mbc) on boost all the way to redline without any care for knocks.

From what I was told by the guy at Cobb the down pipes like AMS take several hours to put on compared to the ones like Cobb.

The Cobb downpipe doesn't replace the O2 housing and the AEM one does.

You will see more gains out of the widemouth DPs, like ETS or AMS, over the regular ones too.

Easily if this is coming from completely stock with the stock tune. It's not unheard of to get those kind of gains fro just a tune, no parts changed at all.
